I'm Sorry

Post by nick »

I faked a field goal late on Steam and instead of scoring i waited til he tackled me and ran clock and kicked a field goal to win the game.

I felt bad afterwards and realized it wasn't the best move on my part and i even offered him a rematch because i felt like shit, and he said no and posts the video with the following message.

"OU brought out the FG team only to pull a fake fg pass, proceed to run around and intentionally keep from scoring in the wide open field and then qb kneel it and drain the clock to set up another FG. Here it is......... YOU MAKE THE CALL: SIM?"

so i just want everyone to know, that i'm sorry for the fuck up and not to look at that and think i'm some cheesy fuck. Know that I offered a rematch cause i felt bad and he said no.

I'm not against a fake FG in general, and I'm not necessarily against falling to waste the clock, in the correct situations.

But in the video game world, those things usually aren't taken very well. I definitely wouldn't do either.

As anyone who has played me can attest to, I am an anything goes type of guy. That said, falling down short of the goal line is one of the few things that can bother me.

Well what was the other result, he takes it in for the score? Unrealistic yes. Sour grapes, definitely.

should have just scored td and been done with it is what i would have did if i went with the fake (i would have kicked it right off the bat, win or lose, sounds like a great game with a bad ending. too bad). but to replay the game, you justed wasted a hour of your opponents time already, why would he want to do it again.

I'm just curious as to why fake a FG when in FG range, seems very risky.

Eh, who knows.

 never seen a fake FG actually work. Man I can only imagine what Steam was thinking when that play happened.

what does this even mean? are you taking a jab at me and my gameplay? cause i mean it was 28-28 and a very good game up until i decided to risk it, fake a fg and then drop killing clock. Its strategy. But because I did this I wasted a dudes hour and he wouldn't do it again?

what exactly are you saying by this Plasma?

wouldnt that be the point of running the fake FG? to make it look like you are kicking a FG
I think you missed the point of my post, lol.

I'm saying, have you EVER seen a coach in real life call a fake FG in a tie game with less than a minute left on 4th down when he was in field goal range??? But I'm saying I don't really see the logic or why it's worth the risk. yes I see it worked in hindsight but at the time, it's risky to make that call.

i'll answer this. the dude scored on me on like 2 diff drives in 3 plays. I couldn't stop the slot post to save my life and if i tried to watch it, he beat me with a streak. So I knew if i kicked the 3, even with 1 timeout he would score easily (1 min left) because thats just how the game was going.

So i risked it, plus like i said my kicker was iced and i was on a hash, i could barely see the poles and was fucked.

im not taking a jab at you in anyway nick.so as bigry told stimpin back in the day "calm your boner down"

im just saying ,i can go into any game other then a sports game and shoot the shit out of anything that moves. if im tired i just put it down and turn it off. and the battle online goes on without me. when you play sports games, you dedicate a hour or so to play a game against a person, and you just want to have the closest thing to simulation football for the entire game for that hour.

my personal feeling on the game and what happened, ill just keep to myself, because my feelings will offend some and others will agree.and i dont need the drama.

Should have scored, worst case scenario he comes back and ties and you are back where you started.

I don't think anyone would not score in a tie game there. To preserve a lead yes, but not to break a tie.
