You weren't the only one that had him on your list. He wasn't in the pool to be drafted.
With that being said...
File is uploaded. Website updated.
Next sim tomorrow morning, 6am deadline for exports.
New in game date is 12/27
Rule 5 draft complete
Winter meetings begin
News pending
I would call that doing homework on people that are eligible, whether they are in the draft pool or not.

I would call it I am not going to search for every single person on everyone's draft list to determine if they are eligible or not.
I get to pick from a populated draft pool the game offers, I roll through 30 teams until their lists are empty for however many rounds and the draft is completed.
I am not going to sit and reverify if the guys people put on their lists are eligible or not.

You can't re-verify.
Guys can protect players for this last sim so when you pull the exports, their player ends up protected.
Like Corey mentioned though, in the Rule 5 draft menu, it has a list of players, similar to the rookie draft list when you guys are setting that in the game.
If the player is not in that list, they cannot be drafted as you have to choose players within that list to draft.
I do see Ramiro Fuentes is Rule 5 Eligible, so not sure why he wouldn't show up. But it is what it is if he was not in the list.
It has to be the 60 day DL.

If they were still injured at the time of yesterday's sim, I don't think the owner had the ability to move them off the 60 day DL and back to the active roster and 14 day DL. I thought the same thing last year when someone tried to say it had to do with whether they had major league time, which was incorrect, but realized it was the game not letting you move them back when I had to move Gary Spencer a couple sims back. So same goes for Jerry Gallagher and Barry Fernybough despite what their contract and status tab says.
Edit: didn't see Jerry's post so this was just a response to George

From what I am reading, the 60 day DL will still allow a player to be Rule 5 Eligible, but the 15 day DL will remove them from being Rule 5 Eligible.

Is not receiving a 46 to 48 rated player really getting screwed?

Eligible in their status tab on their profile, but not in the rule 5 list. Only exception I can think of them being in the rule 5 list is if their injured time has expired and the owner could theoretically move them off the 60 day DL and chose not to

And yes, a 3rd post, but I just read this:
Players cannot be selected off of the 60-day DL for the Rule 5 draft. But that's because the 60-day DL stops working as of the Nov. 20 reserve list filing date. All players on the DL have to be reinstated to the 40-man roster by that date. (If the player is still not healthy enough to actually play for a long time, he just goes back on the 60-day DL when spring training begins, which is when the 60-day DL starts working again.)
During the off-season, there is ONLY the 40-man roster. There are no disabled lists and no optional assignments.
If OOTP allows the 60-day DL to keep functioning well into the off-season, then it is in error.
So, I am guessing, OOTP has it programmed in error and the 60 day does keep them from being drafted.

I was just busting his balls.
I get that he may be a little upset, but a guy that is 27, so most likely won't get any better, and is a decent pitcher, but a bottom of the rotation type of guy.
I mean, Free Agent, 28 year old, Doug Lowe, can be had on the free agent market and is basically rated the same.
Pick him up George and your problem is solved.

It's not the point of what rating he is. It's that it is 3 years in a row I have been screwed over in Rule 5. 3 years ago everyone got their players back. Last year the guy I picked and maybe a couple others went back due to owners exports "not taking" and now this year. If he is eligible then he should go to me or anyone 5hat chose before me with him on their list. I did my homework and saw a guy I wanted, he was number 2 of the 4 guys on my list. The other 3 were protected.

You going to put him on my team for league minimum?

Arguing with a guy that is sitting in the middle of the desert with nothing to do but dodge missiles for 8 hours a day is a losing proposition.

He couldn't be drafted. Niddler said he has to take from the draft list.
Guys on 60 day should never be eligible, as per mlb rules. That's an error in ootp.
You weren't the only person who put him on your list. So it is very likely that someone else would have drafted him before you anyways as you sucked but were not the worst of the guys who sucked.

We definitely get them the other 16 as well
Oh well, I couldn't find anything about 60 day and rule 5. All I could find was that they could be taken off the 40 man roster if on 60 day DL, to me that means they are no longer protected.
I'm done with rule 5.
