You said he'd be a bust, and now you and Ja Morant's Mom are the only 2 people in the world who think Ja is better than Zion, and you think your takes before he played vs after are just a total coincidence?

Maybe you don't "hate" him, but it's pretty obvious you think Ja is better solely because you never thought Zion would be as good in his entire career as he has been in his 1st 15 games.
GeorgesGoons wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2020 11:38 am I just don't think he is as good as Shel makes him out to be.
How good do I make him out to be? I'm not sure I ever even said how good I think Zion is or is going to be, so i'm curious to hear your answer to how good am I making him out to be?
GeorgesGoons wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2020 11:38 am For a guy that hangs out around the rim and 100% the most athletic guy in the NBA he just averages 6.8 boards a game and never crashes the boards
Minutes. He's over 8 per game per 36, and he leaks out by design. He is the first Pel up the court after a shot probably 75% of the time, that's by design.

He's been very bad on defense, most rookies are. Ja isn't any good on D. Luka is in year 2, and he's shit on D as well. All 3 will get better.

Dude is 19.

The defensive part of the NBA is the most growing pains for young guys. He is putting up insane numbers on basically athletic ability alone....at 19!!!

The defensive game should click, hopefully develop even a somewhat average mid range game and who knows how damn good he will be.

He’s basically only pounding people with his size and ability and being pretty damn dominant....at 19!!!!

Cnasty wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2020 11:24 am George’s hate is simply balancing Shels man love.

It all evens out and it creates a good balance up in here.

No hate, not enough hours in the day to have hate in my heart. I just don't think he is as good as Shel makes him out to be. For a guy that hangs out around the rim and 100% the most athletic guy in the NBA he just averages 6.8 boards a game and never crashes the boards. I see a lot of times where he takes multiple plays off offensively defensively. He gets caught watching the ball rather than defending his guy, he can get away with some of it as he is just unreal explosive to close in on his guy that just went by him. Just things I see. I cannot wait for him to get into the dunk contest though, dude is amazingly talented and has unreal leaping ability for how big he is.
Shel countered most of this... but stop with the rebounding piece. It's completely by design. They want him taking advantage of his athleticism on the break. I think it's been called out in every game that I've watched. So either you're just watching highlights or you're watching with your sound off.

Crazy talk! Shooting outside of 5' Zion is mediocre at best. It appears he takes about 80% of all plays off if the ball is not coming his way, no crashing of the boards on either side of the ball unless he is the one shooting. It also appears he doesn't play great defense, he looks like he is trying to make up with explosiveness rather than getting his feet in position. But I am not a fan so take it for what you will.

Ja Morant is head and shoulders a better all around player.

So because Kareem Abdul-Jabbar made the majority of his shots during his career in the paint, he was mediocre at best?
Zion has been super limited in his playing time due to his injury.
Stop hating and get on the train George.
I am not saying he is the next coming of MJ/LeBron/Kobe, but the dude can play. Give credit where it is due.

Stop saying I'm hating. I'm not. I just don't go around looking in the locker room to sniff his jock strap after games as some people would if given the chance.

I don't either, but the dude is good and can play.
As Corey stated, you forget, he is 19 and just entered the league and has been super limited since he got here.

I'm not saying he can't play. Obviously he can as he is in the NBA. I just don't think he is as good, or will be as good, as he is hyped. If his talent ever reaches his athleticism he'd be the greatest player of all time.

You say things like this, but then you say something absurd like Ja Morant is better.

Like Dub said about it being awkward, we're entering the next phase of you saying he'd be a bust, then claiming you never said he'd be a bust and you meant he just wouldn't be top 20 all time.

i'd go as far to say as i've never been more impressed with any rookie ever.

and i've watched a lot of basketball in my life. there are certainly guys who have been as good, but i can't think of anyone better.

the fact we're even replying to george says more about the people replying than it does about him. let the dude live in his misery, who cares

Clippers - Rockets tonight should be good... Love Houston thinking outside the box and going super small even if it ultimately doesn't pan out

"Outside of the box" is the same failure D'Antoni has been doing for years... except instead of being 80% ridiculous, he's going 100%. Fun offense to score a bunch of points in the regular season. Not so fun when real competition consistently beats your ass by 20 rebounds per game.

Not every team can be good enough to win a title.

Has he failed or has he maximized how far he can get these Rockets teams in the postseason?
