Can we put something in effect, kinda like fantasy baseball, where all trades need a 2/3s or even majority vote to pass? Would this help in not allowing a team to trade the entire farm for 1 player? It would help police what the league would deem "unfair" trades.

Give each trade a 24hr window and only those owners that check the boards during that time frame would be counted (IE, not ALL owners are required to vote as I know that would NEVER happen)
We can't keep people from trading with him. All it takes is 2 guys to get a stud while giving up 8 potential studs

I know I am new to this league, but I have been in leagues that have tried this and it has not worked. Made things really bad and ended up having people quit.

it works in fantasy . . . why can't it work here? Gotta take emotion out of it. We are a league of grown ass men
Spoiler!
even though it does seem at times some owners have the monthly "PMS"-type symptoms

For me it is really simple. I don't know how he managed to assemble a team like that, but I applaud him. His team is even beyond the OOTP randomizer screwing it up. If Corey is on board..and if it is better for the league's health, and better for Corey's desire to stay motivated then why fight it?

There is no way I want a trade council. Let’s not over react and police every move. This Boston thing is a one time occurrence in the league.

If Corey is bringing this up and is ok with it, then why wouldn't we do it if its possibly for the better of the league supposedly. Maybe corey is bored with his squad winning 130 games each season. i wasnt around when this monster was in the works, but if he is willing and feels its best for the league, then why not. if he was against it and the commish decided to do it, then that is fucked up.

the format on how it should be done, let him protect whatever number he wants to, then have a one round 29 player draft. pay for the player according to to osa rating-

80- 1 mil
79-70 800k
69-60 600k
59 or lower 400k

either give that money to corey or split that up between the non playoff teams, its an idea

anyways im headed for a nap. sweet dreams

trade approval is an awful idea

I don't think Corey would be offering this up for the third or fourth year in a row if he didn't think this idea wouldn't be good for the league. Take advantage of it and vote yes. No need to be so staunchy and prideful about this.

I am late to the party of reading this thread, but I actually agree with shel here or at least what he posted on the first page, but I vote for either a restart or leave it alone.
I am not in favor and never will be of dissolving or doing anything like a Boston draft. Just a shitty option in my opinion.

To each their own opinion but I do not really see how addressing one team who is causing the “issue” is more shitty than restarting and losing all of the history of what could possibly be the longest running and successful league OOTP has.

This is so silly. Keep Boston the way it is, we all need to get better! Should the NFL disband the Patriots because they win almost every year?

Interested to see how this ends. Will it be majority rules? Two-thirds vote? Who knows! We'll make that decision later!!!

RanDawg wrote:why do people continue to trade him if THAT seems to be the problem. Let him utilize FA, draft and extending his own contracts. If the problem tends to be other teams giving MORE and getting less in return . . . it seems to be a simple fix to me. At the end of the day he won't be able to afford ALL of his players and so they will go to FA for all to bid on.
Its pretty simple....no one can come close to offering what he can in trades
