Boston

Post by Cnasty »

Plain and simple vote.

Do we need to do SOMETHING about Boston or keep chugging?

The something can be determined later but understanding if people really feel something needs to be done is a simple discussion.

Options possibly:
Boston draft (I get to keep some of my core, favorite players)
Contraction (all Boston players retired and minor leaguers take over the mlb club)
Other?

This vote is a simple yes or no though :)

If it is voted to do something like this we do not need to get too crazy or drastic. I support a Boston draft for the health of the league but start small. The bottom 10 teams in the league or maybe all non-playoff teams can draft a player from his ML team or minors of their choosing excluding some guys that Corey would like to protect. This seems like a reasonable and not too extreme way of doing this.

Guys please vote on this asap. I know it might take some debate but I will likely have rollover done tonight and this would be something that would be great to handle as early as possible.

Please think of the league and not your individual situation or personal passionate beliefs.

I can say the likely outcome if we do anything is a Boston draft with bottom 10 teams or non-playoff teams getting a pick. Retiring guys is an awful outcome.

Boston draft to include all 29 teams, my opinion.

This would fall under personnel interest :)

He does not need to become the worst team in the league and playoff teams like myself do not need a stud. A smaller step would be more fair and most likely fix the issue.

I didn't even bring it up this time.

But to be fair it shouldn't just be the teams that missed on the playoffs. Should be all teams. Make it where a playoff team can only take a single a or below or something. Even losing 29 guys Corey still has a 90+ win season, given he gets to protect at least 10 guys

If we restart, we need a new commish.

Billy won’t and I won’t.

Just keep that in mind if someone else wants to take a stab at it.

If you want to be "fair" we should do nothing and let Corey kick our ass for 10 more seasons since he built it fairly. I do not see any reason he needs to lose 29 guys. Losing 10 guys or even 18 if we go all non-playoff teams would easily normalize him and that is the point of this. Not to make sure that every single team gets a guy given to them.

I'd commish a new league. Where everyone has 30 minutes to pick whatever player they choose

If this passes we retire all Boston ML players. That is really the only way to go about this imo. Otherwise we are going to have complainers all over the place about how we "draft" the Boston players. I say we dump them into FA! Let's mix it up!

Retiring a bunch of stud players in their prime is just dumb. If guys are complaining they don’t get a guy they are missing the point and this topic should be closed. Guys say Boston is bad for the league so the point is normalizing Boston. Not who and how many get a charity player.

Boston should not come out of this in terrible shape or with no farm. It is just to make him more like your typical best team in the league.

I voted no, because we are penalizing him because his team is too good. You said the key words, "he built it fairly!" I guess the Patriots, Celtics, Canadians and Yankmees leagues thought about making it fair for everyone else... I went against the grain, and voted no.

No problem with that at all and I get it. I just think for the health of the league it would help out but we are trucking along either way. I also know Corey kinda wants this to pass and would get the fire going as his team runs itself now

Shit, I wrote it so fast, I left out WE, and the Yankmees is not a misspelling, hate the Yankmees, GO RED SOX! I have read both sides of the argument on previous posts, and I know Corey wants to let his team go to give this league a boost, and try to make it fair. I see it differently, because he built it and it is too good, so let go of his players to give the rest of the league a chance, I get it totally, but I gave my opinion and I disagree. I know it will pass, and I am a bottom team, so I guess some of us will get a player from his team....we will see.

Whatever your vote is tell your friends who don’t frequent boards much to vote. I would love this decided this evening so we can move on and do this as part of rollover.
