I expect these debates at the beginning of each season but it usualy dies out and guys just enjoy the league. So far this version the "opinions" pop up at least 2 a days since the game has dropped....gets old after a while

well Billroy thread was started after a scrim between me and him awhile back

like all great teams FSU defense goes into this lock down type of mode on defense where they cover everything

so

man coverage was called and all of his guys had no room what so every and his QB sat back for like forever until he finally ran with the ball

no my question to him was has other people ran with the QB in scrims he has played?

i asked because i know people use to tax you on coaches reports and complain about any time you ran with the QB...hell even option some times when he is actually suppose to rush the ball 1st then pitch

and like I told him I don't want it in the back of my mind you can't run with the QB then on the final play of the game his QB strikes off for a 15 yard game winning Vince young type run and leave me pissed because my last drive I had 3 straight downs like that which could have won the game for me.

and honestly I haved played alot of guys who sit back in max coverage because they know in there mind that you can't run the QB so you either pass quick or throw it away and if you pass into coverage your WR gets big hit then the other guy comes across and picks it off

I don't mind if your QB runs it's fine with me just don't get upset if my QB's run as well

I'll play by the rules, but come on now...Look at if from the other perspective now, say a QB hits his scramble limit for the game, if I'm on Defense is is now acceptable to just drop 8 people back in Prevent everytime I smell pass??

Since I KNOW he's not allowed to run and has to sit on his side of the of scrimmage, I'll just bail on worrying about him and cover everyone downfield while my D Line makes their way to him eventually.

While we're at it, since we're basically a few shakes away from just letting Corso pick all of our plays and rolling the dice, how about we add a MULLIGAN feature for the game???

Ya know, like in golf...You make a mistake and you really really really didn't mean to do it. Accidental INT or failed attempt to stop the other team on a key conversion? I think thats the future of gaming online

Maybe I've missed a ton of rules being add this year outside of no guess run but how are we a few "shakes" away from letting corso pick the plays?

No your post is about as dumb as it gets.... How are we moving down the line towards uniform play? Have we banned the option? certain playbooks? Or said this is the number of plays that need to be ran? Outside of banning guess run and asking guys to use moderation for some of the new features how are we changing the rules to promote uniform play cause I dont see it????

Mobile QBs are a part of the game, but do not call pass plays with the sole intention of taking advantage of defensive AI flaws, this is acceptable once or twice a game, but there are designed QB run plays for a reason. Excessive use of this as a type of offense is strictly prohibited

This was the rule before the only change I see was that we did away with the wording that its ok to call a pass play with no intention of passing. If you guys wanna take more from it then whatever floats your boat.

Not to disagree with you....but when a rule is changed and a LIMIT is imposed two weeks into the season, which I think is the biggest issue many people have, we are all going to have some kind of reaction, either positive or negative. I think that is where these comments are coming from. We all want fun games and realism.

My thoughts on the matter:

FYI, the new rule was not meant to specifically limit and impose an actual number on "how many times you can do something". It was a guideline that as should have been expected, taken WAY too literal in the translation.

It was simply meant to re-word the rule to discourage saying you "could intentionally and knowingly take off a set number fo times per game as it was worded from 2006.

The Rule has been amended.
