The GOP is not solely at fault here. You had democrats from the Intel Committee going on TV saying they have 100% proof that Trump was a russian asset. This has been the most divided we have been as a nation since the Civil War, and it falls on the Democrats, GOP and the Media for allowing us to get here
I'm sorry George, but this isn't a "both sides" situation. Trump has broken the law repeatedly, and has never been held accountable. He never divested his company, he lies multiple times a day, and the GOP leadership ate it up. Now, when he's tanking their power in the Senate, they suddenly want to part ways with him? No. And don't forget, Mueller said he would have charged him with crimes if not for the fact that the DoJ told him not to (which was being run by Barr).
There is no "both sides"ing this one. Trump is a disease, and everyone who enabled him in the government needs to be held accountable.
Just curious what laws were broken repeatedly?
Dozens upon dozens of violations of the Hatch Act by both he, his family, and his aides/staffers
Obstruction of justice
Conspiracy to defraud the United States
Numerous campaign finance violations (his former lawyer gave him up on that)
Tax fraud (which he WILL be prosecuted for once he leaves office, SDNY has already said as much)
Failure to divest himself from his businesses (violation of the Constitution)
With all those violations he should have been impeached for one of them right? And not exonerated by the Senate.
Um....
....he WAS impeached. He was acquitted by a group of REPUBLICAN SENATORS who said, before they had heard a single piece of evidence, that they were going to acquit him. He also wasn't charged with some of the items because, as Mueller stated, he was told he couldn't do so by the DOJ. Guarantee you he will be charged with some of them once he leaves office.
Oh, and the Hatch Act violations require the Senate to charge him. Which, again, his enablers weren't going to do. Which all goes back to my original point:
Donald Trump was enabled at every step by McConnell, Graham, and the rest of the GOP, and they should be held accountable.
And one side note: Hawley should be expelled and his career ended for his actions yesterday. He helped incite an insurrection and then tried to continue stoking the flames as he gave his "speech" directly into the camera.
