You do realize we're not basing the COVID mortality rate on estimates, right?
Ah the tried and true Nick go to move. When you are proved wrong, just change the subject and don't talk about it any more.
There's a whole hell of a lot of people in LA county as well, with the vast majority crammed within a 15 mile radius (like me) of downtown.
no i just dont care anymore.
ya i figured you/plasma would have me beat. Toronto's only 2.9m but the whole GTA (added little cities) makes it 6m. That said 3m is still a lot but no where near Cali numbers.dakshdar wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 11:23 amThere's a whole hell of a lot of people in LA county as well, with the vast majority crammed within a 15 mile radius (like me) of downtown.
We have ~8k people/square mile in my "town" and we're on the lower end for this area (two towns over its ~12k/square mile).
That's adorable that you think that's what happened here.
Read, comprehend, concede you misunderstood what I said, don't pretend you don't care any more, don't change the subject and create the strawman like you love to do. There ya go, that's what more you can do.
For reference, I have 86 people per square mile. Not 86k, but 86!dakshdar wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 11:23 amThere's a whole hell of a lot of people in LA county as well, with the vast majority crammed within a 15 mile radius (like me) of downtown.

Hmm... figured you'd be one of the few that would get that immediately.shel311 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 10:43 am TIL the seasonal flu mortality rates aren't calculated similarly to COVID where we take the actual # of positive tests and then deaths.
For seasonal flu, it's all assumed rates based on how bad the strand is for that given flu season.
If we calculated mortality rates for flu exactly the same way we're doing for COVID, the flu mortality rate would similarly be near 4%.
The first 5 were within the first 100 pages. And the Utah project was one I searched for b/c I heard about it this morning.GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 1:36 pm Started at the bottom and worked my way up. Some things that don't need to be in this bill:
- Housing Opportunities for people with AIDS
- Transit Infrastructure Grants ($25B)
- National Railroad Passenger Corporation ($526M)
- Grants in aid for airports ($10B)
- Senate Employee Child Care reimbursement ($84k per month). I'm good with that if all other day cares that had to shut down get reimbursed.
- Central Utah Project (water & related resources) ($12.5M)
Forgiven, you've been pretty on point with stuff throughout.
