PS3 connection issue

Post by fsupenguin »

So I am at a hotel till Thursday evening and I have my PS3 with me and I cannot get the tv to work with it at all. I have every type of switch I know of and have tried them all, so I am either thinking the tv has been messed with so that you cannot hook stuff up with it. Or is it possible that since I have an HDMI hookup at home that the PS3 is set to work with that, and I would have to turn those settings off to work with regular av cables? I really don't know and am hoping someone has a clue.

Some hotel tvs have that stuff disabled to force you to order PPV instead of bringing something to use on the TV.

Hold down the reset button on your PS3 for 30 seconds after you boot up. It will reset it to factory settings in regards to display. If that doesn't help, you're SOL.

I have had this problem many times and have solved it with a very simple solution. 1st, go to wal-mart, target, or whatever is close. 2nd, buy a 19-27 inch flat screen tv that is in a small enough package to fit in one of your suitcases. 3rd, take it out of the box carefully and do not remove any plastic or even the remote. 4th, play your games, watch porn or any other movies. 5th, return it and say it didn't fit where you wanted it.

it will work, i've done it many times

I take mine alot when I go out of town for work...

Like Jsense said, the first thing is when u turn on your ps3, keep your finger on the power button till u here in go "beep beep"...that puts it back to default display settings..

If the problem is the TV, turn it to channel 2 and then channel down, it will usually go to the AUX channel, which is what you want. If that doesnt work, look for an input button on the remote to change the input on the TV.

Is this a newer tv? flat panel, HD?

and if you can't get the input button to work on the tv you need to detach the cord that looks like a phone cord going into a black box that is usually on the back of the tv.

Some hotels have the inputs at the desk where you can plug in anything from hdmi, vga, and rca. Usually you'll just plug something in and it'll pop up on the tv automatically.

Got it! It was the settings, once I reset them it works! I think I lost my trophies by doing this, but that does not matter to me. Thanks again guys for the great input!

Are you still out of town on Friday for our possible bowl matchup?

If Nick's predictions are right, we face off in the Cotton! Cool matchup.

Im just being proactive in getting it scheduled.
