Everyones take on NO HUDDLE
Kinda wondering with the new way that NO HUDDLE is set up this year if we are going to be able to run it Non stop down the field or if its gonna be a moderation thing. Or what is everyoen thoughts on this.
I personally think that the additon of this is great, Have played a few people that have used it alot and it doesnt bother me, Just tryn to get a feel of how everyone else is feeling about this.

I didnt mind it from a defensive standpoint either
Only thing that could be a problem is that if you are in a Dime defense while the opponent is in the spread and then they change to something with a TE set than as a defense you get out of your Dime you will have DB's playing LB

Re: Everyones take on NO HUDDLE
I am assuming it will be a moderation thing since nothing has been brought up about it in detail until now.
I am actually wanting to us it with Mizzou but have changed to another PB just in case. I dont mind it since now you can call plays on Def other than just being able to audible like past versions.
BSTK: That is a chance and an understand that the person on Offense will have to accept if he/she is willing to call a hurry up offense. Having the DB's in at LB during this time would have to be expected. It's not a choice (if you will) the defense has, it is a response to what the Offense is doing. Right?

Re: Everyones take on NO HUDDLE
I think it's very realistic except for the clock aspect of it. You can literally run 2-3 plays in the span of about 10 seconds and that's kind of stupid in my opinion. As for the defense, I think you would have to do what a lot of actual teams do and and go with a nickel package to be prepared for either eventuality. The fatigue factor seems to be very even on both offense and defense too making that somewhat of a non-factor in my book. The one big thing that stands out to me is that since you are going no huddle with only one package, there is a big chance that the playcalling may get a bit repetitive since I highly doubt anybody is going to run a lot of different plays in a no-huddle drive of 7-8 or more plays.kdog36 wrote:I am assuming it will be a moderation thing since nothing has been brought up about it in detail until now.

yep
why i like michigan, theres a formation where the RB/TE are lined up wide, so i can go from that to almost any other formation in my PB, and have the right personel on the field.
but You can also do it on Defense right?

You can change the formation you're running when doing no-huddle?

Re: Everyones take on NO HUDDLE
Yes, u have your full PB, on either Off or Def. Which is why this feature is kinda nice. I agree with Peay about the time situation specially if we use 7 min quarters, But it also adds more to the game, Making the Def have to choose a play faster n maybe forcing them into a call that makes ur match up better. Or throws them off a lil.
So if its a moderation thing then really there is no point to it, Kinda takes away from what some teams really do. Play the CPU vs OU, Tex, Mizzu, and a few others and they do this the entire game. But all in all I was just wanting to see where this issue was at.
Also have found that Nickel n Dime 3-2-6 are pretty much your only options when facing one of the above listed teams as it does give the best options for what ever they may throw at you.

I had no idea you could change formations, but I would be completely cool if my opponent ran this.

Not something i'd dock for this year. Besides, it's part of some team's play style so why not?

I don't see any issue with it at all, but it needs to be clearly laid out so we don't have people docking points on scouting reports because of there opponent running it.

I think you would have to let the defense be set first though. Notice how the QB looks to the sideline for the play? That is a nice touch.

Re: Everyones take on NO HUDDLE
I have no problem with them running it. Defense set or not. That is the main reason to run no huddle to keep the defense from making too many adjustments. Now it isn't like the defense has only 5 plays to audible to now so it should be a fun thing. Just remember the people seem to get tired pretty quick.

Re: Everyones take on NO HUDDLE
I like the addition of the functional No-Huddle and how both sides of the ball get access to their full playbook. I also could see the possibility of a rule set in place that would require the offense to huddle on "clock stoppage" downs, like after an incomplete pass....thus allowing the potential for a coach on the defensive side to change his formation or even a package.
Just my 2 pennies.
