Cam Newton
Cam Newton
Interesting quote from the cam shaft. I guess he has not embraced the family yet?
He's on the verge of breaking several Auburn and SEC records, and has become a front-runner to win the Heisman Trophy in his first season with the Tigers.
But if Newton had to do it all over again, he'd still be playing quarterback at SEC rival Florida, where he signed to play out of high school in 2007.
"If it was up to me, I would still want to be at Florida," Newton said earlier this week. "My heart is still at Florida because of the long-lasting relationships I have with my teammates there. Leaving them was the hardest part."

Re: Cam Newton
i dont think it means he hasnt embraced auburn
sounds to me more like he's a good kid with no grudges speaking highly of his former program and teammates despite what happened
i'm sure this wasnt an unsolicited reponse rather an answer to a question
good answer imo

Re: Cam Newton
I can see the part about still missing the people from Florida. The coaches that recruited him, probably did for multiple years prior to him being there, and the brief time that he was there. Basically the guys that earned his trust and he wanted to play for, are not who he currently plays for.
Re: Cam Newton
I can defiantly see how you would feel like that but do not say it to the press. The Auburn boards are in meltdown and the asst. athletic director has already called Mark Schlabach wanting answers of why they put the article up.

Re: Cam Newton
agreed. If you do say it, then you should follow it up with something along the lines of "... but I am looking forward to showing them what they could of had"
Say you wish you were there, but since you are not you plan on going out and proving it on the field.

That's just because if he was at UF he would have already been through the impending doom coming his way on Saturday...I hope.

Not sure who will win Sat and don't care because this is round 1of SEC West playoff. I think it will be a great game though.

Re: Cam Newton
I remember following his recruitment pretty heavily and watching him rise from a 3 star QB all the way up to a 5 star top 25 player nationally. His HS tapes were awesome and he seemed like the real deal, but then the whole laptop fiasco happened.

Re: Cam Newton
Agreed...LSU is great on D...Auburn is not. LSU plays everyone close, no matter the team. I'm taking the mad hatter with some crazy luck late in the 4th for the W. Newton is a stud and the Auburn offense is great to watch, but I think their D will hurt them in this one.BFiVL wrote:Corndogs over cowshit in a squeaker.

Re: Cam Newton
I just do not know which LSU team will show... They looked great offensively against UF, and I was truly surprised. Not because of the plays they made, but it was how prepared they were; a very different team than I had seen in other games. Auburn will need some defense in this game... both teams have played some incredibly close games decided in the final minutes so it should be really good!!!
