Question, has there ever been a blocked kick in an NDL game?
I've blocked two in my video gaming career that I can remember. Way back on NCAA 05 I got a long field goal attempt with a DT. This was in a scrim against an NDL'er but I can't remember who.
Just last month on my first and only time playing Madden 11 to date I blocked a field goal kick with Deandre Levy.
Just wondering because I'd like to be the first to get a blocked kick in a league game.
In the past on NCAA, I think i've had a punt or 2 of mine blocked.
As for as field goals, never blocked one in an NDL game. I knew a way to block em about 50% of the time probably 4 or 5 years ago, but it was cheesy, so I never did it in league games, lol.
This year, I swear I'm gonna block on one day. I come so close at least once every game but never got one yet.
I don't know if it'll happen this version...in a dynasty I tried coming out in an all out block formation on a punt and turned the Dline to agressive and no one even comes close to getting the ball. The CPU always lines up in punt protect when you bring heat though.
I blocked one way back in the day in an OSPL game. I wasn't even looking when it happened though. I don't even attempt to block kicks or punts anymore. Usually on PATs and most field goals I'm either taking a drink or eating something.
i blocked one like the 2nd or 3rd game i played in this years version.
i was using a tackle, i was just mashing buttons like i normally do, somehow i switched to my lb who got thru a crease and i jumped and he did one of those super jumps and swatted the kick. when i say super jump, i mean it... dude was like 4 feet in the air, i dont recall seeing anyone except Mike on a user pick jump that high.
Have not even come close in this years versions on PATs or FGs, but I did get a punt when I had an opponent backed up and punting from there endzone. I came very close many times in last years game, but it required moving one of the players who was in a downed position a few spots, so I could never try it in a NDL game, and it seemed to be possible at least once in a while on most past versions before that. I really do wish this happened more often as there really are so many blocked kicks in the NCAA and we hardly ever see them in this game anymore.

....i like it
remind me between seasons and i'll make it so
Exactly. During season awards, you see a guy that was 13-13 with a long of 52 get a nod over someone 10-11 with a long of 52, but if that second kicker has 8 kicks 50+ vs only one or two it would sway the way the votes go. It just gives more info towards the overall body of work
I think I have blocked 4 or 5 xps/ fgs on this version.. in scrims.. and 1 against the cpu... And I have blocked 2 punts, 1 in scrim 1 against the cpu.. Each time it was more luck then anything.

Considering how many guys havent blocked anything (and in my case, couple versions worth), there is like a .0002% chance that its only luck

Honestly though, with so many teams going to that spread punt formation now, I rarely see blocked punts
