Your Quick Opinion of CoD

This game is the worst of the four recent versions but is still very good. Reason: the game lacks the fun factor. In fact, this game is almost the polar opposite ofmy initial review on Modern Warfare 2 that I posted here.

Having played a few Team Deathmatchs and Free For All's, here is my review.

- The music and sound are fantastic.

- It is borderline chaos. There is always something either chasing after you or killing other players. Air drops, helicopters, different more powerful helicopters, automatic sentry turrets, airstrikes, controllable Predator missles, the AC130 thing ... something is always killing you.

- This game is a victim of technology. There is absolutely no difference in the usage of any gun in the game. I accidentally picked a SMG - I had been using the M4A1 since I started - and didn't even notice until an award popped up for getting five kills with the SMG. Even the handguns are out of control. I seriously cannot tell if that is a sentry gun, a human, or a helicopter shooting at me from behind. There is virtually no difference between the quality of the guns; I've used about 10 different guns.

- Speaking of handguns, your sidearm is now your "secondary" weapon and they include handguns, automatic handguns, shotguns, etc. So you can run around with an assault rifle and a shottie if you so desired.

- Speaking of awards, my fucking god you get points for doing anything! Perks all over the place and lots of different things to unlock. For those of you that were good with the ACOG scope, you are going to dominate with the thermal scope.

- Oh yeah, best part ... mid-game host migration. If the host leaves, it pauses and finds a new host.

- The invite system looks to be fucked. Defaults to the PS3's XMB and then seems to send an email. Doesn't look promising.

- Someone said 19 maps and, if that is true, I am the unluckiest bastard ever. About 50 games and I've seen the same 10 maps. The maps are totally uninspiring; lots of maps with buildings, which is good because you will need cover.

- I say you will need cover because there is no escaping someone anymore. They see you, they shoot first, you are dead 90% of the time in one second. It is commonplace to see the FOURTH-PLACE guy finish with 25 kills and 22 deaths. You die. Often. The guns are too good. Someone was shooting a sniper rifle that seemed to be capable of getting off a shot ever third of a second.

- You can have multiple special weapons at your ready. What I mean by that is remember when you got a mortar strike in COD5, but if didn't use it before you got two more kills, you only got the dogs? Well, no more of that, you get both.

All in all, this game currently gets a 7.5. It ranks behind both four and five.

I bolded that last part since that turned out to not be true; everyone just needed to get better. This game is great ... the other three were varying levels of extremely great. Your take?

I don't know if I agree with you and simply trying not to agree with you.

Right now ... Modern Warfare 2 was fun. This is not fun. I mean, shit, I miss the panic and noises from an AC130.

None of the maps so far seem to allow for long distance shots, either buildings close together or the map forces into a small area.

I havent played as much as some of the other people, but so far seems as though its just run and shoot with no strategy on the multiplayer.

If its not a small map then its just that there is shit littered all over the place...a car here, a bus there, a bulldozer here, a big ass sign there.

I like it, the new wager matches have been fun. My complaint is the connection shit which I hope gets fixed. Getting booted from parties or lobbies is getting tiresome. The shooting factor is tough. We all bitched about being able to shoot smg across maps and now you cant shoot more than 50 feet, they need to find a happy medium. I hope the patch coming will be a cure all for the major issues but I like this game a lot.

growing on me a little. it feels just like W@W which is a step back so to speak from MW2.

the hit detection is still fun. some of the maps are decent, most are not good.

Spawns are god awful.

I am enjoying it when I actually get to play a match and dont get dropped from a party which still takes way to much time.

I dont care for the wager matches myself, get boring.

Still fun though to get on and shoot with the NDLers.

i like it alot.

i'm not a vet of these types of games so my opinion is probably just ignorance to not knowing what 'used to be'.

my only two complaints:
-- spawning is fucked up
-- play the same maps over and over (i actually like the maps)

- Spawns need to be fixed. There's no reason you should be spawning three feet in front an enemy.
- The random map voting is stupid. If a random map is voted for, it should never be one of the two maps that were just voted down.
- Thank God commando is gone. I loved MW2 but I was so sick of guys running through claymores, explosions, and a magazine full of bullets then stabbing you right in your forehead.
- I like the CoD points but I'm already running out of things to spend them on. Why would I spend them on guns that are clearly inferior to ones that were unlocked to begin with?
- No more quick scoping. That was almost as ridiculous as commando on MW2. It was a borderline glitch in my book.

- The customization options are out of this world. I am level 30 something and there is always something to spend money on. '

- I love the contracts. I am always using differnet guns so I can get a better contract.

- guns seem good to me tons of kick on some and none on other. its hard as fuck to shoot across the map with an SMG but easy with M16.

- Theater, Fullycustom games

- Wager games ++ I have played these with Bifvl, AJ, Ricco, a lot and these are a blast

Dislikes

- connection issues, and lag at times

- spawns. on some maps I will die like 3 4 times in a row because I spwn right next to an enemy. Makes no sense. Makes Ground war the worst thing on earth. I will not play ground war.

Piggyback on Dole's post, what are you favorite/least favorite guns?

Mine:

Favorites
1. M16 - accurate, good range, good power
2. M14 - Semi-auto single shot, but if you land one or two shots the target is going down. Decent range.
3. M60 - Heavy and bulky, take a day and a half to reload, hard as heck to keep on target, but get a burst on a target and they're done.
4. Dragunov - I haven't spent a lot of time sniping on this game, mostly because you can almost use the M16 as a sniper rifle. But this one is my favorite so far.
5. Python - I don't use the pistols that much but this one is by far my favorite. The speed loader attachment is an absolute necessity though.

Least Favorite
1. Any SMG

To be honest, I haven't used anything other than these so far, except for the rare instance where I live long enough that I run out of ammo and have to pick up someone else's gun. Like I said earlier, I don't see much of an incentive to buy other guns yet. Everyone says the FAMAS is awesome. I'll have to give it a shot (pun intended) tonight.

as much as i play the game i'm still learning a ton.

i'm very happy with how my game has progressed and my psyche is alot better knowing that i started this game the same time as everyone else so i know the maps as well as most others. the last game i always felt like i was at a disadvantage.

I was just giving him shit. Hell the guy was in the positive all day yesterday when we played. I enjoy playing with Riccio, BETTER THAN PLAYING WITH BFIVL whom talks about raping my man hole all day.

Aj you do what I like to call strategic camping you are not going to charge if its not to your advantage. I just can't stay in one spot. I get bored.
