Santa came early to Quest's household

Post by Quest4Gold »

Well since we are leaving on the 23rd for Florida, The wife and I decided to give the gifts today. I wrote up a letter from Santa saying why he brought them early. It was funny, I hear my oldest get up and go into the living room. He then goes back in and tells his sister to come here. He then comes get us and tells us there are a bunch of presents in the living room and we acted all surprised. It ended up being a really good thing to do, plus we don't have to worry about hauling all the stuff back from Florida now.

glad your kids got to enjoy the day. some of the best memories of my life are waking up on christmas day. even if i was getting socks and toothpaste, it was fun unwrapping a ton of 'gifts'.

agreed. thats one thing i will do up every year no matter what it takes. I know there were years my parent couldnt really afforf to get my sister and I what we wanted, yet every year without fail there it was.

Parents are the shit not for their giving but for their selflessness when it comes to their kids.

Here's a quick tip for the frugal parents out there. Pick one of your kid's favorite toys and make it disappear around June. Then, wrap it up and stick it under the tree in December. Play it off like Santa knew the toy was "lost".

Cheap and effective, unless they've marked the toy in some way that they will know it is the same toy.

No charge for this one.

A kid will probably forget all about that toy in about 1 day, lol

nice one Quest. I always wait til christmas eve to put presents under the tree. When I was with their mother she always wanted them under the tree before hand? I always go "extra" every christmas but with money tight I just got them things on top of their wish list and had my dad and sis help out :D

Yeah, we didn't go all crazy this year, they all got about 5 or 6 things because the Disney trip is already put us back 2600. But honestly, they got some really good things and they are really enjoying them. Tomorrow, we are having Christmas at Grandma's (since we are bringing grandma to Florida with us) so they will be getting some other things there as well.

I bitch and complain about Orlando being a crappy city to live in but I take for granted when I actually have kids and Disney is right down the street.

Enjoy the time man, weather has been amazing this week.
