Rosters

Post by cougnix »

Is anyone interested in creating an NDL roster file? I know not all of us get the game early, very few I'm sure, but we would be able to have everyone edit the roster of their own team. I have only edited WSU in the past, never really attempted to make a full scale edit, but with as many people that use their favorite teams and the time spent using them, it would be pretty easy to have a full roster set by the end of the first season of the game. Just a thought, seeing what others think. I'll be waiting on Operation Sports rosters, they always do a nice job, but they do make changes that don't affect online play.

typically there are a couple websites that get the game early, and you can get a full roster download within a week of the game coming out. Once someone gets the locker that its in, just download it from there.

I'm not new. I know that is the case. Just wondering if the NDL folks would be interested in trying to do this ourselves. Hence the sentence that says "operation sports". People always say, "These rosters are good, but my team depth chart is not what I see on Saturday's."

The only roster file I care about is the one that comes out a week or so after release with just the players named. I could careless if someone goes in and edits the depth chart and such to reflect real life; the rosters we use for on-line are the default rosters anyway.

to much work, yuck

let people who really have nothing to do build the roster files and just copy 'em. It is nearly impossible to get an accurate roster with injuries, redshirts, transfers, etc....

I don't think I've downloaded the rosters in years at all, too much work.

I've searched around and there are at least 5 people/groups doing this, a few of them when they get the early releases. So I'm sure we'll have a file by Friday. (tailgater had a decent one really fast last year)

I'm with BigMike on this one..why reinvent the wheel?
There are websites where they offer them free and they usually have it in advance as they get the game in advance.

What we need to hope for right now, is that we don't have a roster disaster like we did with 2010.

Geez, I figured with a 120 team league there would be more nerds out there. I don't want to do it either, but I would do Washington State just to make sure it was right (I did this for the last season of 2011).

All the guys that are drooling about this idea won't post because you fools will give them one of these...
