UFC 134

Post by GeorgesGoons »

Here is my predictions for the fight card:

Fisher vs Tavares: Tavares by decision. Fisher will be rattled by not being able to land the one big punch and Tavares has slightly better stamina and a much better ground game.

Miller vs Palhares: Fight of the night potential here. Both are straight ahead type fighters. Miller by split decision.

Thiago vs Mitchell: Thiago by 1st round submission. Thiago is in a different class altogether when it comes to Mitchell.

Assuncao vs Eduardo: The only fight I can recall seeing either of these fighters was Assuncao against Faber. I'll guess Assuncao by submission in the 2nd.

Alcantara vs Arantes: Alcantara by TKO in the first round

Jabouin vs Loveland: Striker vs Wrestler. Loveland wins a snooze fest unanimous decision.

Silva vs Ramos: Ramos is coming in on 3 weeks notice after replacing Mike "Quick" Swick (who is one of my favorite fighters after getting to meet him and Kyle Kingsbury in Iraq). Late replacements are always a hit or miss, Silva may not be ready for what Ramos brings to the table because of the different styles that Ramos and Swick have. I do think Ramos will win this via decision.

Cane vs Nedkov: Cane is mean when he gets in the cage. That could be his downfall though. I see a shocker of a win by Nedkov as he ground and pounds his way to a split decision victory.

Pearson vs Barboza: I've never been a fan of Pearson and I hope he gets beat down in this fight. So I am going with Barboza just because I dont like Ross. I'll say Barboza by submission (arm bar) in the second round.

Nogueira vs Schaub: Schaub by KO. Nog is on the downward slope of his career and I think he was given this fight as a possible last hurrah to a great career in MMA. Schaub is a beast and looks better with each fight. He has the potential to be a top 3 Heavy Weight within the next couple of years.

Shogun vs Griffin: I expect to see a much better Shogun this fight. He absolutely looked like a 12 year old girl in his fight against Jon Bones Jones. Not sure if Griffin can handle the younger fighter in this one so Shogun by decision.

Silva vs Okami: Silva in an easy win. Not sure if he'll play with Okami or use his better overall game to beat him within 3 rounds. Now with that said, Okami is kinda like Sonnen without the mean streak in the ground and pound game. If Okami can get Silva down and keep him down like Sonnen did then watch out for the shocker here. But I wont ride the fence and give a reason why both will win, Silva by TKO in 2nd round to prove why he IS the best in MMA.

Here is my predictions for the fight card:

Fisher vs Tavares: Fisher, Tavares is a bitch and will lose by TKO.

Miller vs Palhares: I agree I think this is Fight of the night potential here as well. Miller by Unanimous decision.

Thiago vs Mitchell: Thiago by Submission.

Assuncao vs Eduardo: Assuncao by unanimous decision.

Alcantara vs Arantes: Alcantara by TKO.

Jabouin vs Loveland: Jabouin wins by unanimous decision.

Silva vs Ramos: Silva wins by unanimous decision.

Cane vs Nedkov: Cane knocks the guys head off and wins by TKO.

Pearson vs Barboza: Barboza is a upcoming stud. I think he will win by submission.

Nogueira vs Schaub: Schaub is going to knock Nogueira into retirement.

Shogun vs Griffin: Forrest has not looked that impressive since losing to Rashard. Rua will win by TKO in the 2nd.

Silva vs Okami: I hope he doesnt just toy with him. I hope since he is in brazil he will want to embarrass this guy and win KO of the night. I say KO in 2nd round.

Anyone have a good link please post it. Thank you :)

I used to think he was just a cocky bastard when he did that, now I just realize he does it because he's just THAT DAMN GOOD.

Jabouin vs Loveland: Striker vs Wrestler. Loveland wins a snooze fest unanimous decision.
Got this one wrong

Alcantara vs Arantes: Alcantara by TKO in the first round
Correct in the winner, just went to the judges instead

Silva vs Ramos: Ramos is coming in on 3 weeks notice after replacing Mike "Quick" Swick (who is one of my favorite fighters after getting to meet him and Kyle Kingsbury in Iraq). Late replacements are always a hit or miss, Silva may not be ready for what Ramos brings to the table because of the different styles that Ramos and Swick have. I do think Ramos will win this via decision.
Correct in the winner, but Ramos got KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT!!!

Assuncao vs Eduardo: The only fight I can recall seeing either of these fighters was Assuncao against Faber. I'll guess Assuncao by submission in the 2nd.
Correct in the winner, just went to the judges instead

Thiago vs Mitchell: Thiago by 1st round submission. Thiago is in a different class altogether when it comes to Mitchell.

Fisher vs Tavares: Tavares by decision. Fisher will be rattled by not being able to land the one big punch and Tavares has slightly better stamina and a much better ground game.
Correct on the winner, but Tavares finished Fisher in the 2nd round

Cane vs Nedkov: Cane is mean when he gets in the cage. That could be his downfall though. I see a shocker of a win by Nedkov as he ground and pounds his way to a split decision victory.
Correct on the winner again, Cane did the "Stanky Leg" after getting hit a couple of times in the mouth.

Pearson vs Barboza: I've never been a fan of Pearson and I hope he gets beat down in this fight. So I am going with Barboza just because I dont like Ross. I'll say Barboza by submission (arm bar) in the second round.
Correct again on the winner, was just hoping that Barboza would break Pearson's arm off and beat him with it.

Incorrect on this winner, WOW is all I can say. I thought Schaub would put Nog into retirement.

Shogun vs Griffin: I expect to see a much better Shogun this fight. He absolutely looked like a 12 year old girl in his fight against Jon Bones Jones. Not sure if Griffin can handle the younger fighter in this one so Shogun by decision.
Correct on the winner again....didnt see Forrest getting beat that bad though.

But I wont ride the fence and give a reason why both will win, Silva by TKO in 2nd round to prove why he IS the best in MMA.[/quote]
Correct, I think I nailed this one on the head.

Your picks are usually very good, the trend continues.

I don't think one Brazilian lost tonight.

How bad is Griffin more like. Ever since he was embarrassed vs Anderson Silva he has never been the same. Sucks, but that might be the last we see of him, he had such potential.
