S22 Highlights

S22 is in the books, but before we go onto the draft and S23 lets looks take a look back at some of your teams big moments from S22.

Central Florida

Guyton Downs Clemson

Although UCF lost it's season opener for the fourth season in a row at the hands of Arkansas State it was this game the Knights really wanted to win after losing to Clemson 26-6 in S20. UCF held the upper hand for most of the game but it wasn't decided until QB Jeff Godfrey hit WR AJ Guyton on a cross with under a minute and a half to exact some revenge and win 20-13.

I don't know if some guys find this cheap but I thought it was a nice play. Godfrey held in the pocket as long as he could before floating up a pass to Guyton on the fade who soars to bring down the touchdown pass to help UCF beat Marshall and improve to 4-1.

Brynn Harvey Brings UCF Back Against Tulsa

Since losing in their first game of the season, UCF won seven games in a row before they met Tulsa who looked to end that streak by taking a 20-10 lead late in the third quarter. One play after falling behind by ten star player Brynn Harvey said it wasn't going to be that easy to beat the Knights and ran 73 yards to put UCF down just 20-17. It was the first of 17 unanswered points as UCF won 27-20 in overtime.

In the Tulsa game after UCF took a 27-20 lead in the first overtime it was up to the defense to stop Tulsa as they neared the end zone. UCF held the Golden Hurricane on three plays setting up a 4th and goal from a few yards out with the game hanging in the balance. The stop improved Central Florida to 8-1 on the year.

Showing up in the Showdown

#16 Central Florida vs #13 East Carolina was the biggest game C-USA, and perhaps the mid-majors, had seen all season but UCF proved to be on another level that day as is evident here by HB Brynn Harvey stiff arming an ECU defensive tackle to the ground and finding the end zone.

Play-action passes rarely result in anything but a sack this year but here QB Jeff Godfrey got tons of time after the play fake and found Godfrey behind the defense for a beautiful catch in the end zone. The Knights would win 38-7 over #13 ECU and improve to 10-1.
