Sioux City Trading Block
Sioux City Trading Block
I figured I better come up with a thread that breaks down what I'm thinking, in the way of trades and such. At least I'll try.
First off, I, like so many others, have too many OUTFIELDERS. So, any and all of my OUTFIELDERS are available, and certain ones, in particular (Now, just to highlight a few).
OF John Glendenning - 28 years old, career .295 hitter, incredibly consistent whether it be against right handers or leftys.
OF Herman Wallace - 28 years old, .298 average in 1st two full seasons with the Explorers
OF Rory Oliver - 27 years old, fantastic defensively and totally fast (179 steals, over past three full seasons), a .300 ba versus RHP, career.
OF Juan Gonzalez - 27 year old, fast (116 steals over two seasons), career .304 average vs. RHP's, fantastic defensively.
Once again, any OF's in my organization are available for trade. Maybe you need a 4th OF or DH to help you towards a playoff berth.
SP - Domingo Jimenez - 25 year old had a breakout season, last year, going 12-3. Would let go for a song!
CL - Hector Sanchez -Has been unstoppable the last three seasons, with an E.R.A. around 2.50, and a great sinker/slider combination
SP - Luis Mercado - 27 years old, three solid pitches
1B - Lawrence Franks - 22 years old, has fantastic potential, kills against leftys, playing for the minimum pay.
Now I know that a few of you have mentioned names to me, of guys not listed here. I'm not saying that the ones listed above are the only ones on the block, but I'm just not sure what I would want in return, for some of the guys u listed. Why would I trade away young pitching talent? Only for lights out talent in the minors or DRAFT PICKS (if that were an option). So don't know what offer would make me trade away young pitching talent (which is premium for everyone). But feel free to try, ha.
This season is a wash, which is stunning. This team is very solid at the ML level and this could just be an off year. So I wouldn't be looking for much of anything at the ML level, but most likely minor league talent, to re-stock my minor leagues (as it seems to me that this league may last, which is great!).
Thanks for your interest and I hope to complete at least one deal, eventually. lol

Totally disappointed so far in my trade talks. Everyone wants young stud SP Danny Martin or Bobby Sharpe, which is understandable as they're inexpensive and once again, young starting pitchers. But my trade partners either don't have the young prospects available to trade away OR they aren't willing to trade away players that MIGHT end up becoming good, to get someone that already is good. Ya gotta be willing to give up the goods to get the goods. A similar situation with Pitchers Domingo Jimenez & Luis Mercado, and I don't think I'm asking or wanting nearly as much for them as Martin.
C'mon guys, I have a team here that has alot of pitching & excellent outfielders. How about the middle relief. Do you need to upgrade ur middle relief? Javier Fernandez and Hector Sanchez are incredible relievers....you won't give up a possible future player or two for a current all-star?
I've glanced at a few teams and I see a few that could use an upgrade in their outfield production, even though everyone supposedly has enuff outfielders.
I'm trying to be a seller....willing to take on players that may end up good, seasons down the road and do we really know how long this will go? Wouldn't you want to try to win NOW? Just sayin.

Re: Sioux City Trading Block
Just to update.....
I have two pitchers available for trade: Hector Sanchez & Tom Wright. Could be some excellent additions to your staff, before the season.
Three outfielders still available: Juan Gonzalez, Rory Oliver & John Glendenning. Each are excellent LH hitting OBP guys.
Just looking to bolster my minor league system, in return. And not even looking for elite prospects. If there's any interest, in any of these five players, let me know. Thanks.

First off, anyone that was interested would go check out his bio and find out that he's currently injured. So I'm certainly not able to hide that info.
He's 23 years old with three seasons under his belt, with a sinker, a curveball and a forkball, all rated between 72 & 82...he'll be back stronger than ever, ready to anchor someone's starting rotation.
And why do you think there would be a rule against trading injured players? If someone is willing to wait for this guy to get healthy and become a top of the rotation guy for the next 10 seasons, what's the issue with that? Seems somewhat smart to me.

Because I think it's an MLB rule that you can't trade an injured player.
I don't think anyone thought you were being devious...or maybe someone did

Once again, I have two premiere pitchers that are available and ready to move to the right team: Javier "Crime Spree" Fernandez and Hector Sanchez. Interested in draft picks or minor leaguers. Throw me a bone and we'll wheel & deal.

Re: Sioux City Trading Block
Late last night, I traded stud reliever Hector Sanchez and above average reliever Tom Wright (along with three other prospects) for little or nothing. Just an average middle reliever and a 3rd round pick (along with a couple of later round picks that will be worthless). It was a very one-sided trade that worked greatly in Denver's favor....and I'm willing to do it again!
I have another stud reliever by the name of Javier Fernandez. Wanna strengthen your bullpen and not have to give up much in return? I'm the guy to talk to!

Me: what do you want for Sanchez?
Knapp: (paraphrase) how about the #1 pitching prospect in the entire NDL... Or your #1 pick from last year...
