What the Hell is going on with Expansion?

New USBL teams own 4 of the top 5 budgets, over $200 million for some
I guess their media revenue wasn't locked like ours, as only Chicago struggled to get by with 55 mil. Kentucky was over $100.
They don't have to spread this wealth around like some of the owners last year had to? No expansion fees to get into the league to put into revenue sharing? I believe Tampa had to pay to get into MLB, as I assume the other expansion teams did too.

On a finiancial report note, I wish they would detail what these expenses are.. Mine says Cash -7 million and Denver says -36 million... what are these figures? Why the huge discrepancy? I haven't even touched the file yet. Only thing I could figure out is $1 million in player expenses so far is the bonus to Cruz for winning Hitter of the year as everyone else is at 0.

The media revenue is at $40,000,000 for all of them. Their budgets will be adjusted once they go through a full season in our league. Until then, they will have to spend at their own risk.

You had a loss of $7M and Denver lost $36M (including revenue sharing). That loss carries into this year.

They were each thrown a few studs but don't have anything else in the minors... pretty standard. I think people are overexaggerating how good these teams are. Pretty much all the pitching staffs look rough and who knows how these players will play in the NDL.

When I was comparing the team I took over to the current teams, I think I found about 5 'good' players and 4-5 other plays that could make a normal team's roster. The other 15 guys probably couldn't hang with your AAA guys.

agreed. Sure they may have the budget to make a splash in FA, but there isn't going to be a whole lot in FA to get. I think we are looking at a good dumbing down of the talent pool.

of course some of the USBL guys slipped throught the cracks or wanted 20 million from the NDLB teams so they ended up in USBL.

so some will be good, but on the whole, i dont see any of those teams sliding right into the playoffs this year without some work.

I don't even see them having minor league teams yet, I don't know how they are ranked.

they have the BA top prospects. 2 of the teams have some studs but 2 are mediocre.

The other big deal is these guys will see their budgets CRASH next season with adjusted media revenue and everything else. The new owners have to be VERY careful not to end up in a situation like me or Seattle.
