Rules question about subsitutions
Okay, so I use WSU playbook that has a lot of multiple wide receiver sets. I always set my lineups before the game and make sure all the subs are legit. I've noticed that if receivers get tired and they start putting in players automatically it has been doing CB's in the lower slotted receivers. I just noticed it when 3 of my defensive players got receptions. Am I breaking a rule because of that? I really have no control of that because I had my top 3 receivers that were tired and I didn't substitute the guys in, they were just automatically put there. Real answers would be great, sideways comments are also welcome...

SUBSTITUTIONS:
QB: QB. (Any player with a 70+ in THP may be a BACK-UP)
HB: HB
FB: FB, HB
WR: WR
TE: TE, FB
OL: OL
DL: DL
LB: LB, DL
CB: CB, S
S: S, CB, LB
--RBs will no longer be allowed to play FB regardless of their blocking numbers, packaging allows for two tailbacks to be on the field at the same time..
--No offensive players on Defense and vice versa.
--The #1 and #2 overall WRs must be used in the #1 and/or #2 positions. Placing a quality receiver down on your depth chart to take advantage of matchups is unacceptable.
PACKAGES:
With regards to the above three bulleted items there will now be a slight limitation of packages. ALL packages are available to use and are "fair game" with these 3 exceptions.
-- #1 WR CANNOT be moved into the slot. There are about a dozen offensive formations that allow you #1 WR to be moved to the slot. The ONLY defensive formation that allows you to move your #1 CB into the slot is nickel. This is not equitable and therefore not allowed.
-- CB 5 Wide - in the 5-wide sets there is a package that allows for a CB to line up at WR. In staying consistent with "no defensive players on offense" this package cannot be used.
-- *New for 09* WR at HB - in some sets the #1 WR can be subbed in as a HB...but not in the NDL.
It may happen every now and then but not regularly...and not 3 def guys in 1 game.
How many wr's do you have on your roster?
I think 5 is the fewest ive seen and even then, u can enter a te as a 6th or 7th wr if needed on the depth chart.
answer though is no def players on offense per the rules
(we know in real life some def players play offense....problem is since this is a video game we have to make certain rules to prevent unfair advantages due to being unable to counter/prep or adjust on the fly for certain things. In the interest of simplicity and fairness, the above is the rule pertaining to def players on offense)

Re: Rules question about subsitutions
Washington State sucks and I was down 28 so I had to run a lot of hurry up the last two possessions. Both turned into TD's and they had a combined 3 receptions, but I didn't know they were in. I threw to 11 different receivers, so yeah, I know the written rules, but what if it wasn't my fault?

The fact that it only happened once and you came here to ask shows that it clearly wasn't intentional.
Nole was just saying that it was technically against the rules, and just be a little more careful in the future so there may not be a bigger issue made if it was to happen again. At least, I think that's what he was saying.

Plus you can only set six spots on the WR depth chart....so after #6, it's all up to EA.

S15: Wake 8-5
S16-21: Washington 9-4, 10-3, 8-5, 9-4, 7-6, 6-7
S22: Ohio 8-5
S23: ECU 12-2
S24-26: Kentucky 8-5, 5-7, 5-7
Career: 102-61

Way to go man! I see you like to spread the wealth around!!
11 different receivers in one game is a helluva milestone...Some Pass Heavy gurus don't complete passes to 11+ receivers all year long, let alone one game!
It speaks volumes to how you approach the game and keep the TEAM concept always in the picture. Definitely not a one or two trick pony. Nice job!

Re: Rules question about subsitutions
Rain, you're just lucky I thought I couldn't schedule you so I scheduled UTEP. That hurting would have been on the flowers of Ohio State...
