In my opinion the league should never have had revenue sharing. Get rid of it

Can we get a draft pick trading vote while we're at it?

We've had revenue sharing for 46 seasons with no issue. It's also not the issue now, not sure what we're doing here.

I am agreeing with shel here.
What do we think getting rid of revenue sharing is going to solve?
If we do, how do you ever expect a team that is consitantly shitty to compete for guys that want an arm and a leg to play for their squad?

As I just posted in the other thread about financials, Billy needs to take our NDL.lg folder and make a copy and sim it out a season, 3 seasons, 5 seasons and mark it all down and see what it looks like before we get too drastic.

If he can do that, we don't have to sit and wait to see what will happen.

This definitely needs to be one of those votes that needs 67 or 75% to just get rid of something like revenue sharing for no real reason other than "just cause"

This is what commissioners do in situations like this.
You have to understand what impact your changes will have on the league before you just go messing around with settings.

If you eliminate revenue sharing, does a team like Charlotte ever get to compete for a high dollar player?
I mean, if you are capping a team at $50M cash, does any team ever get to compete for a high dollar player?
Does the cash cap not have an impact like we thought it would?

Does giving teams more money, like the $50M or whatever is being thrown around really help? Does it? How do we know?
Commish has to sim to find out.

Sim a few seasons the way it is, look at #'s.
Sim a few seasons where you gave each team $30M more, what do financials look like? Did player demands go up? If so, how much?

Sim a few seasons after taking away revenue sharing, look at the #'s. Compare to the original sim where you didn't change anything.
What impact does it have on the league?

You have to test things when you are talking about changing up financials. #HaveTo!

That was 1 example. Testing is something a commissioner should do in situations like this.

I'm glad I don't have money or great players to have to worry about this. I've only had one player that I would have thrown a lot of money at and he retired 15 or so seasons ago. It's nice seeing these stars making realistic (albeit high) contracts and not these 8/80m deals

It's not a matter of us being upset about the new player demands, I'm all for it. But the fact no one can afford the demands is an issue. This crap about "the demands will drop" is ridiculous. You can' expect us all to sit around and wait every off season for the demands to begin dropping. That's just as unrealistic as the past demands.

And again...we are only speaking in terms of FA.

Extending guys will be impossible and having attempted to do so for 1 full season on '19 these demands will not drop like FA ones do.

Just ensuring we arent lumping FA demands dropping with extension demands dropping because that aint happening.

If the demands aren't realistic, then why not adjust the target FA values?
