Online PS3 at a Hotel

Post by GT25Ump »

Attention all those that have hooked up a PS3 to use it, ONLINE, at a hotel:

I'm going out of town this weekend and have an important online dynasty game to play, sometime Saturday, IF I can make it happen. I'm staying at an Embassy Suites, which I have done before. I always take my laptop and they have a wireless setup that you purchase for a ridiculous $10 per 24 hours. But that's not the point, ha.

Will I be able to get the PS3 to work online and if so, what do I have to do to make it happen? At home I am NOT wireless and have cable internet. If you don't know or need more info, any idea how I would go about finding out more info concerning my options.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Tfan is the man to ask about this.

He travels non stop and is always bringing his PS3. Id hit him up for the 411.

All you have to do is hook up your ps3 open the browser and the hotels internet website should pop up with directions on how to set up the internet. Some hotels charge $14 dollars a night to hook up to the internet.

Ive taken mine to a few hotels...

Just go to network settings and set up a new connection. Set everything to automatic and wireless connection if thats what it is. Most of the time when running the "internet connection test" it will fail right after you go through setting up your connection. You'll need to go to your ps3 internet browser and open it up and accept their terms and agreements bs...after that you should be good to go. I had one hotel that it took to long for the page to load and the ps3 timed out and never could load the hotels main page.

used mine once and had to hard wire it, but it really was not that big a deal.. There was a number in the room to allow for laptops, PS3's, etc... to access the internet.
