Keying on a Receiver
Anyone seeing a difference when you use this function on defense? Also does it make a difference if you use it and you are in a zone defnse vs a man defense?

Re: Keying on a Receiver
I noticed back in the day when I used it that not much would change, but I did notice experimenting with the guess pass that it makes a HUGE difference.
Not saying its not beatable because almost everything is, but maybe that explains my lack of pass D last year with Wisky.

Re: Keying on a Receiver
Maybe I should learn a few of these features. I normally just sit back and scream at the TV as my defense gets torched pass after pass.
<ice sucks

I agree Hoos. I normally didnt use any of them but tried some that arent "frowned" upon and they made a nice difference in some aspects of the game.Hoos wrote:Maybe I should learn a few of these features.

Re: Keying on a Receiver
Correct...I didnt use any features at all last season. I started messing with them during the break between seasons. I havent noticed much of a difference when keying on a Wr so far unless the defender bats the ball away from that WR and then you get strategy points. But I dont know what it does for the defender's ability because I havent seen that it double teams the WR or anything so it seems like its just a guess and if you guess right you get rewarded...I dont knowHart4Heisman wrote:L2 then the button of the WR you want to key on

i tried to play with that feature early in my week 1 game with ULL. I got torched for it. Never used it again.

Re: Keying on a Receiver
It definitely "works" but it usually fucks me up more than anything.
It's more noticeable in zone. For example, if you key on the tight end and he runs a 5 yard curl, then your 2 MLBs will go towards him and basically do there job and completely take him out of the play, but it leaves the middle of the field wide open for a WR coming across on a slant or square in.
I think it works just like it should, it helps take away a WR, but realistically, it will leave another space open.
I'm guessing if you do it in man, it only really helps with the safety or LB in the zone coverage. For example, if you're blitzing 6 with no help, then there really isn't anyone that can help key on the WR, lol.
I dont use it but only cause no one I really played was really forcing balls to 1 WR particularly, but I do like the feature.
