The battle for the SEC East title begins in Week 3, as the Tennessee Volunteers travel to Gainsville to battle the Florida Gators. That division title race will be tight this year, with these two teams, along with South Carolina, all vying for the prize.

Coach LytezOut and the Vols have struggled to find a tempo in their first two games. They average only 287 yards of total offense per game and have yet to establish a run game. QB Matt Simms is an accurate passer, though, and likes spreading the ball around. His favorite target is freshman WR Da'Rick Rogers, who has the potential to make big plays so the Gator defense will have to keep on eye on him.
Our esteemed commish AJ is still looking for his first conference title in the NDL. If there ever was a season to make a run for it, this would be it. AJ has QB John Brantly to ride the coattails of; in his one outing this season against the Eagles of Boston College, Brantly completed 21-of-31 passes for 518 yards and 3 TDs. The Gators haven't shown much rushing yet either, but they don't seem to have to with Brantly putting up numbers like that.
THE Untouchable Prediction:
With both the Gators and the Vols set to take on two-time defending NDL champion Shel and the LSU Tigers this season, the Gamecocks are still my prediction to win the SEC East. Coach ChampDawg's surprising 10-win season last year (culminating with a win over Florida in the Capital One Bowl) proves to bode well for South Carolina. Tennessee lost by two in Week 2 against a tough Texas A&M team that went 11-2 last season, while the Gators' goal-line stand in the final minute of its game against a struggling Boston College team proved to be their difference maker. This game will be close and the Vols may look like they're going to upset heading into the 4th, but Brantly and his air attack will close out the game and preserve Florida's BCS chances (in the meantime).
