Riccio's Random Thoughts Vol. 2

Article By: NCAA Dynasty League

-- In stocks there is something called 'rotation', without getting too deep somewhere around 80% of 'leading stocks' in one bull market won't lead in the next bull market. The NDL is clearly going thru their own type of 'rotation'. Shel, CNasty, BigMike, and some other top players are not finding the same successes they've had (for one reason or another) in this new version. New leaders have emerged, such as... Hugme, John, Plasma and BFIVL (lol). This type of leadership change is very healthy in stocks and i suspect it will be healthy here as well. New leaders bring new life and new opportunities for growth. Most people will still get caught up talking about the 'old leaders' like Microsoft, GE, Cisco, JDSU simply because thats all they know, while we're seeing the emergence of some new leaders right before our eyes. Some of the new leaders will fizzle as well and not be 'leaders' at all. But the potential is something that makes them very attractive. Very rarely (around 20%) does a company do enough to reinvent itself and emerge from their decline and become a leader again... we'll have to wait and see if any of our 'former leaders' have what it takes to bite the bullet and learn how to grow in a new age.

-- Plasma's great post about games played was an eye opener. The NDL is going strong and Buckeye is doing a great job keeping the league on the right path.

-- Alabama's defense is allowing 1 point per game. It's getting silly at this point. The SEC title game is going to be a great challenge against South Carolina.

-- With less than a dozen undefeated teams left and a long season to go, this could turn out to be one of the most interesting voting seasons in NDL history.

-- Plasma and Stanford are for real but a tough second half of the schedule will show whether he is a contender or a pretender. Games vs ND and Oregon and road challenges at USC and at Oregon St will all be stiff tests.

-- Nobody is happier than Weasel that BigMike is stepping down. While the big 10 is certainly tough, a dream season could be taking place in Spartan country. Wouldn't it be sweet to see Johnny take down his bro and ruin an undefeated season.

-- The Big East is a complete crap shoot at this point. If you told me that Louisville, Pitt, Cincy, UConn or WVU won the conference i wouldn't be surprised. 5 of 8 teams have a legit shot. Syracuse is also on the cusp but would need a great run. Rutgers and USF seem to be the only 2 teams out of the hunt for the BCS bid.

-- On the flip side, if anyone challenges Virginia Tech in the ACC i'll be shocked. Seems like a down year in the conference.

-- Iowa St and Kansas St are the last 2 unbeaten teams in the Big 12 (not counting Tech's 1-0 record)... if you had that ticket in Vegas you'd be a rich man.

-- AUTiger is slinging the rock around in East Carolina, D. Davis is attempting 31 passes per game thru 7 contests.

-- I hope Trendon gets his season going... Senator Nelson would like to hang 70 on him in their game later this season.
