Big XII Commish - Wasted Memory

Big XII Conference Welcomes You All

Article By: Wasted Memory

In a stunning development sure to shake up college sports (and possibly confuse a few geographers), the Big XII Conference has announced the addition of several new teams and coaches, proving once again that the only thing bigger than Texas football is... well, more Texas, while also less Texas, football.

First up, let's talk geography. The Big XII, known for its commitment to numerical accuracy despite only having ten teams for the longest time, has now expanded to include teams from... places that aren't in the Big XII's usual "neck of the woods." We're talking BYU from Utah (which is not a Texan city, last time we checked), UCF from Florida (they might bring sunshine to Norman?), and Houston (which, while in Texas, is a new concept for a lot of these folks).

Now, onto the coaches. The Big XII has always been a hotbed of coaching talent, producing legends like shell311, VTrunNgun, buckeye76, and the occasional outburst from....I don't know, Dak? But now, they've added NarcanMan and practicesafesacks, whose offensive strategies will either revolutionize the conference or make traditionalists spill their Dr. Pepper in disbelief.

So, why did the Big XII expand? Was it for the love of football? The pursuit of excellence? Or just to mess with the SEC? Who knows. But what we do know is this: when Texas and Oklahoma announced their departure, the Big XII didn't go quietly into the night. No, they strapped on their cowboy boots, poured another round of Shiner Bock, and said, "Y'all come back now, ya hear?"

As for the traditionalists mourning the loss of the old Big XII? Well, they'll just have to get used to the idea of Texas-sized change. Because in the end, whether it's Austin or Orlando, Norman or Provo, football remains football, and the Big XII remains big, even if the math doesn't quite add up.

So here's to the new teams, the new coaches, and the slightly befuddled fans trying to figure out where the heck BYU is on a map. Welcome to the Big XII, where everything's bigger, including the confusion.
