It's been a long time since Coach Kegr8er strolled the NDL sidelines and last nights return was one of joy and victory.
Facing BYU and long time rival Coach Tstep in Week 1 was one the UK coach had been looking forward to since the OOC scheduling opened.
"Coach T and I go way back and I have nothing but respect for that guy. He runs a clean program and no matter the talent he has, you better know you are in for a great game."
And that it was...BYU jumped out to a 14 point lead in the first quarter. There was a lot of rust n dust Coach Kegr8er was shaking off.
"Lot of nerves in that first half. But I just put the trust in those guys on the field and they had my back"
Barion Brown led that call with 9 catches, 161 yards and 2 tds
"Barion played a complete game. When we needed 5 yards and a first he got it, when we needed a big play down field he got it. Very fortunate #7 is wearing the blue and white"
After the game Coach Keg and Coach Tstep cracked a few cold ones and caught up for a few hours.
"I'm dragging a little bit today. But getting to catch up was a great time. Next time I'm making sure Coach Tstep brings his wallet because he left for the bathroom and never came back. Typical Todd"
UK now turns its attention to South Carolina. Another daunting task against a high level coach.
No sleeping in the SEC....
