Rivalry Week for the Platypus

Article By: bradysenior

On Tuesday at 10pm the battle for Oregon will also be for the Platypus Trophy, the undefeated Beavers face off against the undefeated Ducks. So far this season both squads have shown their resolve & dominance in NDL play, while Beavers have displayed complete dominance over Beefy Group 4 with only one game remaining on the slate.

The Ducks have struggled with tougher competition in their Beefy Group 6 with 3 games remaining, but they won't come out to just kick it around with the Beavers in 2 days. For a team hovering over Top 50 in every offensive statistic in the NDL for the exception KR, one would have to wonder where does the weakness truly lie with the Ducks, and defensively they boast a Top 100 defense in all categories for the exception of RA/KRA.

Oh you want to see how the Beavers stack up against the Ducks? Fine let's take a look.

The Beavers while undefeated have struggled mightily on the defensive side requiring the offense to battle in shootouts until late in the game. But offensively the Beavers are in the Top 40 in all NDL categories for the exception of PR's. As for the defensive side that is where the scars in the armor begin to show, because to date the Beavers are only Top 100 7 categories within the NDL. The stats on the outside is PA, so when these 2 squads take the field the winner will be decided on the defensive side of the ball.
