Interview with Liberty Flames Football Coach Phoneybadge1: A Journey from Michigan to Tennessee to Lynchburg Virginia
Today, we have a special guest, a passionate football enthusiast who's been deeply involved in the sport for years. Let's dive into his journey and insights. Can you start by telling us your age and a bit about your background?
Coach Phoneybadge1: I'm 27 years old. I grew up in Michigan but now live in Southern Tennessee.
That's quite a move! What brought you to Tennessee?
Coach PhoneyBadge1: I moved for work and a change of scenery. I work as an analyst at Frito Lay, and Southern Tennessee has been a great place to settle down.
Interesting. As a football fan, who is your favorite NCAA team and why?
Coach Phoneybadge1: My favorite NCAA team is Liberty. I love their fun, dynamic offense and the cool jersey combinations they have, especially the script helmets.
Liberty does have a unique style. What about your favorite major sports teams across the NFL, MLB, NHL, and NBA?
Coach PhoneyBadge1: In the NFL, I'm an Eagles fan. For MLB, I root for the Braves. In the NBA, I support the Heat, and in the NHL, I'm a Predators fan.
A diverse set of teams! You've been playing online football for quite a while. How many years has it been?
Coach PhoneyBadge1: I've been playing online football for 12 years now.
Impressive, so mainly Madded I am assuming. What made you pick your current team for this season?
Coach PhoneyBadge1: I thought it would be fun to play with a team in a smaller conference to get my feet wet. Plus, they have a fun offense with players like Salter and Cooley.
Pretty sure I know the answer to this question given your recent game stats but who would you say is the best player on your roster?
Coach PhoneyBadge1: Quinton Cooley is definitely the standout player on my roster.
There is no questioning that so far. How did you find out about the NDL League?
Coach Phoneybadge1: A friend of mine told me about the league, and I decided to look more into it.
What are your expectations for your team this season?
Coach PhoneyBadge1: I'm aiming for us to be conference champs.
A tough task given the legitimate coaches in the conference. Do you have any league rivalries or foresee any?
Coach PhneyBadge1: Yes, we have rivalries with Michigan, WKU, and MTSU.
Three tough teams to want to squabble with for sure. Outside of coaching a sim football team, what are your hobbies?
CoachPhoneybadge1: I enjoy attending sporting events, football recruiting, and four-wheeling.
That's a great mix. What's the best joke you have?
Coach Phoneybadge1: Michigan being better than Notre Dame. LOL
Good one! Thats sure to ruffle some feathers though. What's your earliest memory in life?
Coach Phoneybadge1: Going to my first college football game when I was 7.
There has got to be a good story behind that one to remember that far back. Do you have a favorite vacation spot?
Coach PhoneyBadge1: Somewhere up in the mountains alone. I like to do anything alone where there aren't many people around. I'm really an extrovert person.
Think you meant introvert there but I think we all get it. Lastly, anything else you'd like to share about yourself?
Coach PhoneyBadge1: My long-term goal is to be a scout or recruiter. I'm also a massive Notre Dame fan, born and raised.
