Here’s a slightly late update post-Block 2, weeks 3-4. I’ve removed the comments, and I haven’t looked ahead, as I don’t want to spoil my Block 3 rankings or have these influenced by anything that might have already happened in the last 2 days. I’m dropping in a few snarky 1 liners, just to make it readable. Enjoy the update, solely based on Weeks 1-4 results (as that’s all I’ve seen), and hopefully I don’t look foolish based on anything that’s happened!
18.) MINNESOTA (82) 0-3

A tough Wk.4 loss at Iowa keeps the Gophers buried in the ground.
17.) UCLA (82) (1-2)
Previous: 17
Coach: Ghost of Pauley Pavilion (61-150)
UCLA gets a mark in the win column with a victory over USF, but they had the hammer dropped on them by the Hoosiers in Wk.3.
16.) RUTGERS (82) (1-2)
Previous: 16
Coach: geauxcapper
Rutgers also picks up their first W of the season by taking out the UConn Huskies 32-31.
15.) WASHINGTON (82) (1-3)
Previous: 12
Coach: Doodee (157-75)
Washington makes it a 3rd team toward the bottom of the standings that secured their first W, bringing home the Apple Cup vs Washington State in Wk.3. Apparently, they filled the cup with absurd amounts of vodka in their apple juice, because they were clearly hungover when Northwestern routed them 35-0 in Wk4.
14.) MARYLAND (80) (2-2)
Previous: 15
Coach: Drewwbacca
Another 1-1 week for Coach Drew, this time getting an 8-point victory over EMU and taking a tough loss at a constantly improving MTSU squad.
13.) MICHIGAN STATE (80) (1-1)
Previous: 14
Coach: Korben_Dallas7
Michigan St is an inactive beneficiary of the Drunk Huskies downfall. NIU seems to be having difficulty chartering a plane to Flint and apparently gas is too expensive to make the 5hr drive.
12.) WISCONSIN (87) (0-2)
Previous: 10
Coach: Wave 214 (15-39)
Unlike MSU, unfortunate travel issues for others left Wisconsin inactive as well and this time, it’s cost the Badgers 2 spots in the rankings as we’ve had some big moves forward by others. Hopefully that gets sorted out and Wisconsin seeks revenge on their opponents this week!
11.) PURDUE (82) (1-2)
Previous: 9
Coach: dub6582
Back-to-back losses in Wk.3 vs Notre Dame and Wk.4 at Oregon State end up dropping Purdue 2 spots. That’s a really tough block of games, so I’m expecting to see a couple good matchups coming up in Block 3.
10.) ILLINOIS (80) (2-2)
Previous: 13
Coach: uf83198 (47-27)
A home loss to Louisville isn’t what Coach UF was hoping for, but the Cards are a tough squad this season. The Illini rebounded nicely in Wk.4 by traveling to Nebraska and stealing a win.
9.) INDIANA (82) (3-1)
Previous: 11
Coach: TattooBoyP (63-79)
After giving up 24pts at home to Kent St in Wk.1, the Hoosiers defense showed up in the next 3 games, allowing just 20 points in total to La Tech, UCLA and Kentucky.
8.) NEBRASKA (84) (3-1)
Previous: 6
Coach: Spyder_XT (0-0)
A Wk.3 victory over a stripped-down Ga Tech team pushed the Huskers to 3-0, but Indiana walked into their house and stole one in Wk.4, handing Nebraska their first loss of the season. Coach Spyder is certainly ready to refocus with upcoming games at Purdue and vs Rutgers.
7.) USC (87) (2-2)
Previous: 4
Coach: The_5thLineMason
Trips to Rocky Top and The Big House proved to be too much for the Trojans, as they fought valiantly, but lost both matchups. USC looks to hit the reset button and get back in the win column with game vs Wisconsin and at Minnesota.
6.) NORTHWESTERN (80) (3-0)
Previous: 8
Coach: matt90210 (161-157)
Coach Hollywood’s march up the rankings continues after his Wk.3 by and 35-0 victory at Washington. Another bye week awaits in Wk.5, giving the Wildcats time to prepare for a border war with the Hoosiers.
5.) MICHIGAN (88) (1-1)
Previous: 7
Coach: phreakk (50-43)
Coach Phreakk circled the wagons and recovered from a tough loss at Tennessee in Wk.2, by using the bye week wisely in Wk.3, then dropping a hammer on USC in the Big House for Wk.4. A quick rebound has the Wolverines looking to claw back into the B1G title discussion.
4.) IOWA (87) (3-0)
Previous: 5
Coach: Wildes1 (38-33)
Coach Wildes continues to show that this version of the Hawkeyes can put points on the board, this time putting up 42 against Minnesota. Iowa looks to have a tune up game in Wk.5 at SJSU, before we get a game of the week worthy matchup at the Shoe against the Buckeyes in Wk.6.
3.) PENN STATE (88) (3-0)
Previous: 3
Coach: footballkelly31 (67-129)
It was never going to be a free pass as Penn State traveled to UNT to take on veteran NDLer Coach FSUPenguin. The Mean Green held true to their name, but Penn St pulled out the win. Business picks up in Wk.5, as Illinois is looking to prove that they belong in the top tier discussion and UCLA will be hunting for back to back wins.
2.) OREGON (93) (3-0)
Previous: 2
Coach: mtwasik (195-188)
All eyes were on Oregon vs Oregon State as they took centerstage for the NDL game of the week. Coach Wasik and his counterpart, Coach Brady didn’t disappoint. They put on a spectacular back and forth matchup that will go down in NDL history as one of the greatest games played. An incredible win by Oregon put them at 3-0 and they got a much-deserved rest in Wk.4. Hopefully Coach Wasik keeps the Ducks eyes focused on Wk.5 and Wk.6, while not looking ahead at a chance for vengeance against Ohio State in Wk7.
1.) OHIO STATE (93) (2-0)
Previous: 1
Coach: seeitsaveit13 (225-136)
Welcome to the party Coach Seeit and Ohio State. A bit of a late start to get things going, but they are absolutely rolling now. OSU asserted their dominance in victories over Texas Tech and Fresno. Now they turn their sights to B1G matchups against Michigan State and the high-scoring Hawkeyes.
Thanks for reading again this week. We’re getting some excellent exposure for the B1G and you guys are quickly becoming a model conference in terms of being competitive, playing clean ball and being highly active with getting your games knocked out! Really impressed with everyone and looking forward to the next block of games! Good luck all!
