BIG XII Weekly Rankings

Article By: Wasted Memory

We've hit the mid-point of the season and the conference is starting to take shape. Teams have established themselves and are setting the precedent for things to come. As the pecking order of what has been an exciting season in the B-XII continues to unfold there are some huge games with huge implications waiting in the wings to get played. Some team appear to be "waking" up while others have seen their season's hopes and dreams slip from their grasp. How the next few weeks play out is anyone's guess but it should be very exciting!

1) Kansas Jayhawks JiggyJrod 6-0 (4-0) - I suspect this team will be here for the long haul. The matchup we're all waiting for doesn't happen until the very end of the season. Can anyone unseat them until then? Holding teams to an average of 17.5 points per game!

2) Baylor Bears Dopesoap023 5-0 (3-0) - Honestly speaking, when looking at the schedule there only seems to be one real challenge before THE matchup. Baylor is on a mission to prove he should be in the 1 spot and there doesn't seem to be much in his way for now.

3) West Virginia Mountaineers shel311 6-1 (3-1) - His lone set back is against a very good team, but it's a tough schedule in the closing weeks. Continues to lead the conference in points scored, third in the league. A very balanced run/pass attack.

4) Cincinnati Bearcats ShadyNasty 5-1 (3-1) - Drops a spot after a loss to ASU. Definitely not out of the race though. Has one more tough game than easy sledding. Can't afford another slip though.

5) Arizona State Sun Devils VTrunNgun 4-2 (2-1) - The sleeping dragon looks to have awoken. A huge take down of ranked Cincy should have drawn everyone's attention. This guy will be a problem and his second half of the schedule is pretty favorable.

6) UCF Knights RB4SC22 5-2 (3-1) - Bounced back with a win over Iowa State after back to back losses. Fortunately only one of them was a conference loss. The end of the schedule will make or break this team.

7) BYU Cougars TSTEPANEK 5-2 (3-1) - Another team that is log jammed with a lone conference loss. The Cougars look to be a good team, but the way the teams and schedules are unfolding it could be a very difficult road.

8) Utah Utes Dakshdar 3-3 (2-2) - The difficult part of the schedule appears to be over. It would appear there are only two more difficult road blocks left but two losses may already make it impossible to sniff the conference championship game.

9) Arizona Wildcats razorback 3-3 (1-2) - The last few games have been a lot of fun and probably nerve wracking. Unfortunately he has several more of these games coming. It's a tough road ahead.

10) Kansas State Wildcats bearass 2-4 (2-2) - It's with no offense that I say this, but the teams with 2 early in conference losses are already way outside looking in. The conference is too loaded. Kansas State can still prove to be a good team, but the dreams of a conference championship appear to be over.

11) Iowa State Cyclones Jrembold 3-4 (1-3) - In the midst of a 3 game losing streak, all shoot outs. Not sure they'll be able to right the ship either, several of his remaining games are against the upper echelon of the conference. Leads the conference in total offense so there is somewhat of a silver lining.

12) TCU Horned Frogs NarcanMan 1-5 (1-2) - Basically in the same boat as Iowa State. Not that it was easy, but the easy part of the schedule has already happened.

13) Houston Cougars Yragha 2-5 (0-4) - Things looked really positive back at the beginning of the season. It's been all down hill since.

14) Colorado Buffaloes outlaw 1-6 (0-4) - I'm still blown away by this, especially after all the pre-release hype of this team...but here we are. Should be able to pick up a few more wins to close out the season.

15) Oklahoma State Cowboys practicesafesacks 1-5 (0-4) - The back to back bye weeks killed the early season momentum? Maybe it is the name....it's cursed. I completely understand if you decide to change it now!

16) Texas Tech Red Raiders buckeye76 1-2 (0-0) - Yes, they are a part of the Big XII. And that's about all we know.....
