Could come down a conference championship showdown of Memphis vs Temple.

AAC Mid Season Power Rankings

Article By: xLiQx

With the season hitting a half way point, here are the mid season power rankings for the AAC. A one or two loss team entering into the conference championship talk is very possible. Although the current top 2 teams in the conference, Memphis and Temple do not play each other this year.

1. Memphis Tigers 6-2 (4-0)
This could of went either way. Both of Memphis's losses are two ranked opponents in Clemson(11) and SMU (ranked 4th). Memphis's opponents are nearly .500 on the season, the points for and against are nearly the same between Temple and Memphis. I would look to these two teams to play each other in the conference championship at the end of the season. Henigan has emerge as the leader of the Memphis offense, which leans heavily on All American hopeful RB Mario Anderson, who has amassed 1561 yards on 219 carries and 20 touchdowns.

2. Temple Owls 6-1 (3-0)
Again, this could of gone either way, the slight edge going to Memphis due to the non conference schedule. Temples loan loss comes to Umass (23), who is the only ranked opponent that Temple has played this year. Their opponents win percentage is .349. The Owl's are lead by a balanced attack of run and pass, with two rbs nearly over the 500 yard mark, as well as Forrest Broke at QB passing for 13 touchdowns. Forresst and Crews are serving a 2 game suspension, which 1 game was against UMass. They have one suspension game left on the schedule and they have the also undefeated Florida Atlantic game creeping up on their schedule.

3. Florida Atlantic Owls 2-2 (1-0)
They have a small sample size as they sine BYES early on the season and some rescheduled games. They are listed here as they still have a chance with that unbeaten conference record, but have a batter of games coming up against great conference opponents. Their opponent win percent is .333, where they have one of the tougher schedules to round out the season (mainly because they have the most games to play).

4. East Carolina Hurricanes 4-3 (3-1
Still in the hunt for a playoff spot, with only one loss on the season in conferrence, with a matchup against Temple this week one could say they kind of hold their own destiny in hand, with a loss they would be on the outside looking, with a win, they could be on the inside looking out with a tie breaker against Temple. They also have an end of the season matchup against Tulsa, who also currently has 1 loss.

5. Tulsa Golden Hurricane 4-4 (3-1)
Tulsa will need a little help from another team, as they already have a loss to Temple. They will need to win some tough matchups to round out the season and hope one of the other two teams take a loss, or 2 if Temple.

6. Rice Owls 4-4 (2-2)
7. Tulane Green Wave 2-4 (2-1)
8. Charolotte 49ers 3-3 (2-2)
9. UAB 3-4 (1-2)
10. South Florida Bulls 2-4 (1-2)
11. Navy Midshipmen 1-4 (1-2)
12. North Texas Mean Green 1-5 (0-2)
13. UT San Antonio Roadrunners 1-5 (0-3)
14. Army Black Knights 1-6 (0-5)
