With season 30 upon us the AAC preseason coaches predictions is here…
Let’s breakdown each team a little bit further…
1. Memphis-Coach MGR leads the Tigers of Memphis into season 30 has one of the top signal callers in the game in Seth Henigan. Always important to head into a season with a leader like that. However, He Henigan has plenty of talent around him. Roc Taylor & Koby Drake provide outside threats and Mario Anderson gives a great option to counter the passing game. Greg Rubin & Davion Ross anchor the secondary and will see plenty of action as opposing teams will try to keep up with this potent offense.
2. Tulane-The Green Wave and Coach TilnaciousD roll into season 30 with eyes on the conference crown. Rashad Green will protect qb Ty Thompson and open up holes for outstanding rb Makhi Hughes. Mario Williams & Alex Batman should be top targets in the passing game for Thompson.what could be the top defense in the conference is led by the d-line and end Adin Huntington & tackle Pat Jenkins. Jesus Machado at linebacker & Caleb Ranshaw take care of the back half of the field.
3. North Texas-North Texas will be a top candidate to lead the conference in rushing. Not only with Coach Tat at the helm but with an improvising Qb like Chandler Morris and running backs Ikaika Ragsdsle & Zach Evans will look to ground & pound. Roderick Brown, Jordan Brown & Isheem Young will look to keep offenses limited to get the ball back for the Mean Green.
4. UTSA (tie for 4th)-The Road Runners have a great coach in Vicktim taking over. Kevorian Barnes & Robert Henry front a strong ground game. Oscar Cardenas looks to be the leading pass catcher with a trio of speedy receivers to take the kid off opposing defenses. Donyai Taylor & Denver Harris can put a stop to many drives for the opposition.
5. Army (tie for 4th)-Coach Meep takes the helm at West Point. Look for another dominant ground game to grind opponents down. Kanye Udo will make defenses say uh-oh when he has the ball! Tyrell Robinson Miles Stewart & Hayden Reed should all get carries as well. At wr Noah Short has the speed to get behind defenders who may be peeking into the backfield too much. A strong oline will give the Black Knights the push they need. Max Didomenico will be the leader on the stop em side of the ball.
6. Tulsa (tie for 4th)-The Golden Hurricane will be coached by TexaNole. The offense will be varied and led by Anthony Watkins as a workhorse running back. But just when you think it’s a run Tulsa has plenty of speed at the wide out spots, Kamden Benjamin is the Tulsa King here. The defense will have to step up and play complementary football Myles Jackson & Gavin Potter will look to magically stop opposing offenses.
7. South Fla-The Bulls have Coach US Marine 7t working them into shape. Coach will look to his talented QB Byrum Brown to lead the charge. Sean Atkins as his main target, but the offense will be diverse both run and pass. Jhalyn Shuler will be a force on the defensive side for the Bulls. Along with Rashad Cheney anchoring the dline.
8. Rice-Coach Doodee will be cooking at Rice. The offensive line will steam opponents with tackles Chad Lindberg & Ethan Onianwa. Dean Connors will be the one to get the bulk of the carries at running back. Linebackers Josh Pearcy & DJ Arkansas will be the gravy to this dish for Rice
9. Navy-Coach Code_one14 looks to sail away with this scrappy Midshipmen team. He has a great start with workhorse fb Alex Tecza and speedy Brandon Chapman & Eli Heidenreich. Along with a surprisingly solid oline that fits the game plan. Rayuan Lane leads the defensive squad,
10. UAB-The Blazers of Coach JackB are looking to make a move this season. QB Jacob Zeno is a great place to start. Bryce Damous likely will be Zeno’s safety blanket at tight end. Brady Wilson will be making line calls at the center spot. On defense, Colby Dempsey will look to slow down the opposition and blaze a trail for this UAB squad.
11. Charlotte-Be N Greedy will have the 49er looking for gold this season. Max Brown has the skills at qb to do just that and has a good mine in tight end Colin Weber. Demon Clowney has the lineage to be a demon to opposing qb’s from his end spot, and Dontae Balfour may be the recipient of errant passes at the corner spot.
12. FAU-The Owls are getting a strong leader in long time NDL vet Buckeye76. Coach will look to qb Cameron Fancher to help him fly the Owls high this season. HOO, I mean who will help out most will be center Zeke Moore at tight end & center Frederico Maranges as the hub of the offense. Daedae Hill will definitely get his talons on several interceptions at db. And Philip Dunham will clean up anything else from his safety spot.
13. ECU-Keger8er knows this game as well as anyone and may be a sneaky pick to make a run with ECU. Rahji Harris on the ground & Casey Kelly through the air may be a lethal combination. Shavon Revel may be just as lethal on the other side of the ball. Isaiah Brown Murray better be ready cause most teams will prefer to throw the ball to his side of the field
14. Temple-Coach Nick A takes over in Philly. He will lean on wide out Dante Wright & hb Joquez Smith to help Temple by the Rocky of college football. Andreas Keaton at safety & Eric Stuart at mlb will try to bring Philadelphia Freedom this year.
Still feel this conference will be extremely competitive from top to bottom with anyone capable of beating anyone.
Good luck to all teams and coaches!
