Mountain West and PAC 12 Block 2 Review

Mountain West Conference:

San José State Spartans

San Jose State and Coach Vic haven’t been able to keep the Block 1 momentum going as the Spartans had a bye in Week 3 and as of this writing have not been able to play their Week 4 game against Wazzu.

Wyoming Cowboys

Coach Liq and the Pokes lost a heartbreaker shootout at USC 66-63 in Week 3. Wyoming blew a 42-28 half time lead in a game with over 1400 yards of total offense. The Cowboys came back and performed on the road against Middle Tennessee routing the Blue Raiders 35-0.

New Mexico Lobos

In Week 3, Lobo coach sammy33 went up 17-0 at home against Georgia Southern, eventually winning 31-24 in a game where the Georgia Southern QB threw 6 picks. In Week 4, the Lobos booked a conference win in Fresno, 31-7.

San Diego State Aztecs

San Diego State and Coach BigZ scored 41 points in the first half of their Week 3 matchup vs Bowling Green, eventually taking the W, 48-21. The Aztecs finished the block with an impressive win at home against Coastal Carolina 41-18.

Colorado State Rams

Coach Korben_Dallas7 and the Colorado State Rams continued their murderer’s row losing to in-state rival Colorado 49-14. Buffs QB Shedeur Sanders went 9-10 for 354 YDs and 3 TDs. The Rams had a bye in Week 4.

Fresno State Bulldogs

Fresno State and JustGiver31 lost to Texas Tech in Fresno in Week 3, 59-38. In Week 4, the Bulldogs lost to conference foe New Mexico, 31-7 despite another 120+ yard day from Fresno RB Malik Sherrod.

UNLV Rebels

UNLV coach BlackRain appears to still be on hiatus and has not logged a game in Block 2 as of this writing.

Utah State Aggies

In Week 3, Aggies coach Wave214 lost to in-state rival Utah and their much-maligned coach PettyD 35-0. The Aggies were on a Week 4 bye.

Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors

Chee Pono and jeffdaddy12 beat Big Ten foe Northwestern 35-14 in Week 3. QB Brayden Schager had a near flawless game going 25-31 360 Yards and 4 TD with 0 INTs. Hawaii had a bye in Week 4.

Nevada Wolf Pack

In Week 3, Nevada was up 17-10 at halftime in a home game vs. Iowa. The Wolfpack eventually succumbed to the Hawkeyes 27-17. The Pack got rolled by Virginia Tech 35-0 in Week 4 at home.

Boise State Broncos

In Week 3, Boise State and their coach iRoccafella rolled Illinois 42-17 in Champagne. Ashton Jeanty went off racking up 224 Yards on 24 carries and crossed the goal line 5x. Boise was on a bye in Week 4.

Air Force Falcons

Air Force lost to NCSU Homey and App State on the road in Week 3 21-10. AFA was on a bye in Week 4.

Pac 12 Conference:

Oregon State Beavers:

The Beavers and coach UnTouchable8 lost to in-state rival Oregon 38-14 despite being tied 14-14 at half time in Week 3. Oregon State was on a nye for Week 4.

Washington State Cougars:

Wazzu and coach Matt90210 blew out Washington in the Apple Cup 41-17 in Week 3 after hosting NDL Game Day. The Cougs still have a game to play against San Jose State in Week 4.

Players of the Week Mountain West & Pac 12:


Offensive Player of Week 3:

Although QB Brayden Schager had an amazing game going 25-31 360 Yards and 4 TD with 0 INTs in a win against Northwestern. Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty was on another planet racking up 224 yards and 5 TDs against Illinois. Jeanty is your Week 3 Offensive Player of the Week.



Defensive Player of Week 3:

New Mexico LB Jayden Wilson wins the Week 3 Defensive Player of the Week after recording 9 Tackles and 3 INTs.



Special Teams Player of Week 3:

New Mexico WR Luke Wysong had 4 Kick Returns for 166 Yards and a 100 Yard TD return to take home the Week 3 Special Teams Player of the Week.



Offensive Player of Week 4:

Even though Wyoming RB Harrison Waylee had 23 rushes for 242 Yards and a TD, San Diego State RB Marquez Cooper outdid him with 19 carries for 271 Yards and 2 TDs to take home the Week 4 Offensive Player of the Week.



Defensive Player of Week 4:

New Mexico LB Jayden Wilson clean sweeps the Block 2 Defensive Player of the Week Awards by winning both Week 3 and 4. Wilson notched 11 Tackles, 1 INT, 3 FF, and 1 FR.



Special Teams Player of Week 4:

San Diego State Kicker Gabriel Plascencia went 2 for 2 on FGs and was 5 for 5 on extra points.
