TexaNole hits portal

Article By: TexaNole

After a grueling 5-7 season, Coach TexaNole shocked the world by walking away from his team. The decision came in the aftermath of heartbreaking losses by razor-thin margins, compounded by rumors of on-sideline drinking. Despite earning a bowl bid, TexaNole made it clear he was done—burnt out and fed up with the grind.

But fate had other plans. The Tulsa athletic director reached out with one last plea, asking TexaNole to coach the team’s bowl game in Orlando. At first, he refused, citing the very demons he had sworn to leave behind. When pressed, TexaNole reportedly quoted Memphis Raines from Gone in 60 Seconds:

“It means doing things—things I told you I’d never do again.”

And just like that, TexaNole was back. Fueled by nothing but sheer grit—and maybe a few swigs of Weller 12 bourbon—he prowled the sideline one final time in a farewell performance for the ages.

Tulsa entered the game as underdogs against a formidable Liberty team, led by a talented quarterback and running back. Skeptics doubted the Golden Hurricane’s chances, but under TexaNole’s command, they dominated in every phase of the game. Offense, defense, special teams—you name it, they owned it.

The players fought like they belonged on that stage, paying homage to a coach who’d given his all, flaws and all. When the final whistle blew, Tulsa’s victory wasn’t just a win on the field—it was a moment of redemption for Coach TexaNole.

As he walked off the field for the last time, fans and players alike couldn’t help but feel respect, maybe even admiration, for the man they once doubted.

Word on the street is that TexaNole wants to “go home.” What that means exactly, no one knows. But for now, the legend of Coach TexaNole’s farewell will linger in the air—etched in Tulsa’s history forever.
