Atlantic Coast Chaos: Block 2 Rankings

Article By: Dcanady1

The leaves are turning, the upsets are burning, and the ACC is officially off its rocker again. From belt-beatings to bounce-backs, here’s how the conference stacks up in this week’s power rankings.

Updated Power Rankings
1. Clemson
2. Duke
3. NC State
4. Louisville
5. Pitt
6. Wake Forest
7. SMU
8. Miami
9. Virginia
10. Virginia Tech

1. Clemson

Hard to punish the top team in the ACC for losing to two-time champ Coach Jiggy at Texas. That said, the way they got beat… whew. We’re talking full belt-to-ass whooping on national TV. But hey, Clemson is still the top dog in the conference—until further notice.

2. Duke

Sure, the schedule has been softer than a bedtime lullaby, but Coach Jumper has handled his business like a grown man on a mission. That changes fast, though—up next: matchups against undefeated Iowa State and rising NC State. Let’s see if that armor holds.

3. NC State

Coach Holmey is once again proving the haters wrong. After being underrated to start the season, he made a loud statement by dismantling one of the most hyped offenses in the NDL—Wake Forest—forcing five turnovers in the process. Huge matchup with Duke looms, and it might decide who wears the crown this block.

4. Louisville

Only one game on the board, but it was a good one—taking down a solid App State team. This ranking leans heavily on pedigree more than current résumé, but if past is prologue, this is one to keep your eyes on.

5. Pitt

Pitt is quietly cooking. The only blemish is a close loss to Ole Miss (by 3 points), and this offense is among the most explosive in the NDL. If you like fireworks, watch the scoreboard light up every time this squad hits the field.

6. Wake Forest

Another high-powered offense with a big ceiling, but they’ve already taken a hit after that turnover-fueled loss to NC State. The formula is simple: protect the ball, and Wake could glide past their win total. Easier said than done.

7. SMU

You’d think convincing wins over Auburn and Indiana would push SMU higher… but then came the facepalm loss to UTEP. There’s still a bit of mystery around this team, but they’ve proven they can hang with top competition. They just need to avoid sabotaging themselves.

8. Miami

This season has been a rollercoaster. First, a disappointing loss to Nebraska. Then? One of the biggest upsets of the season, knocking off Notre Dame. Carson Beck is the key—if he’s on, the Hurricanes can make noise. The defense is already dialed in.

9. Virginia

Quiet, yet effective. A 2–1 start with a solid win over Fresno State and a nail-biter against Maryland. Their only loss came against a loaded Arizona State team. Don’t overlook this squad—they’re tougher than they appear on paper.

10. Virginia Tech

Just 1–1, but both games were quality showings. The Hokies handled Colorado—one of the Big 12’s darlings—and gave Tennessee all they could handle. Their upcoming @ Ohio State clash is circled in red ink. This team could either crash the party or get sent home early.

Final Thought

From beatdowns to breakthroughs, this ACC season is shaping up to be pure mayhem. Rankings are temporary. Chaos is permanent.
