Typically, the best teams in the nation are under 100 while most everyone else fits into the 100-150 range. The NDL's will be slightly higher because of the insanely high YPA averages we get in this video game. Passer efficiency is bullshit anyway.

I read somewhere that back in the day when the NCAA was formulating this pass efficiency number, that they intended 100 to be an "average" quarterback and the NFL intended 100 to be elite. Well, 100 in the NFL is now broken much more regularly. I remember Steve Young was the guy that seemed to be the first to top that on a regular basis. In college, I've NEVER followed it. I think its tracked more defensively than offensively in college.

Until they find something more relevant, you will see it more and more in college football. Passer efficiency is a stat only designed to measure forward passing; running is not factored it, which made it useless to compare college quarterbacks. As we get more and more offenses away from that, it will become more prevalent.

That said, the stat still sucks.

Because of the way the formula for figuring out passer efficiency, ATTEMPTS come first in most calculators. Swap your completions and attempts.
