Ever since the Rutger's win, I have had them ahead of Pitt.fsupenguin wrote:So none of you pays attention to the fact that Pitt has been ranked higher than Rutgers before this last round of voting? Why would they pass them now. Seems like a silly argument to jump a team in the last week due to a game that was back in week 9. If it didn't happen then, why would it now?

I believe you both, but evidently most did not make that move or we would not be even talking about this.buckeye76 wrote:Quest4Gold wrote:Ever since the Rutger's win, I have had them ahead of Pitt.fsupenguin wrote:So none of you pays attention to the fact that Pitt has been ranked higher than Rutgers before this last round of voting? Re: Final Poll Results
Well for me, when it comes to the final polls, I really dont even really look at past polls all that much.
Specially not polls that go in the books, mainly for the reason that not all of us vote on a consistant basis, and also not all take their voting seriously.
Now with that said.. I honestly pretty much wipe the slate clean and try to pick in my opinion the best 25 teams at the end of the season.
Taking all kinds of things into consideration, Record, SOS, Comp Ratings, Stlye Points, How the team finished, who they beat ( coach and team wise (numerous factors apply here.), Did they win their conference, head to head matchups, and sometimes if I cant decide sometimes who I think would win in a game tomorrow..
Just all kinds of crap.. Now I mostly only do this for the top 15 then 15 -25 I do far less background checking.
But to me, the most important poll of the season is the end of year. So yes sorry to say I wipe the slate clean and start from scratch.

Yes it is the most important poll of the season, but I cannot see how you think whiping the slate clean is the way to go. Difference of opinion I supose.6ftdeep wrote:Well for me, when it comes to the final polls, I really dont even really look at past polls all that much.

How are you going to consider 43 different thing (including something called "style points") for you final poll and not throw previous poll in there are one of the 43?6ftdeep wrote:

Re: Final Poll Results
Ok, I admit, I used the piss test:
I wrote all of the teams on a card, threw them on the floor and pissed all over them. The card with the most piss on it got thrown out, the card with no piss got #1. The cards then with the least amount of piss sprinkle made the top 10. There you have it, the new way to do your coaches polls.

The polls have "cool points" factored in.

wierd
well of course to certain degree previous poll rating was factored in, in terms of how many ranked teams were played through out the season, and etc.
But of terms of using previous polls as a way of determining placement in final poll,,, for example.
Where I might rank pitt ahead of rutgers because pitt was ahead of rutgers in previous poll and did not lose. I dont use previous rankings in that way.
So yes in some way previous polls are factored in,

Re: Final Poll Results
I believe this is the quote:
Reminder: your poll submission will be made public for all to view.
Please be sure to put careful thought and consideration into your submission.
I believe a simple admission of guilt and that they were boozing and having a good time and feel alittle bad for not standing behind their words would suffice!
But maybe they'll decide to continue their long-standing tradition of not responding to that dick Dr. Tom's statements. Oh, just respond to VVV's, seeing he's the poor bastard that will be losing to cnasty and giving him his first "official" ndl championship. Though, I'll be rootin' for ya, VVV.
