I think AA is better than Heisman last year. Not Majorly but enough to make a difference.

Just played a game on AA that had 367 yards of offense TOTAL for both teams and 2 defensive TDs.
You can definitely D up on AA.
You can definitely D up on AA.

I was thinking about not buying this game, but i like its chances with the discussion so far

I find aa pass defense suspect at best.
I played a team rated a whole letter grade better, d vs c+ .. and while I didn't score a whole bunch of points, Mostly cause my Oline is rated from LT to RT 74, 60,64,61,61. If I had 3 seconds to throw, I had guys open by a mile, I know I threw for around 300+ yards.

And when an owner has a B offensive line and goes against a team with an A defensive line, he'll deal with what you did
And when an owner has a C offensive line and goes against a team with a B defensive line, he'll deal with what you did
And when an owner has a B quarterback and goes against a team with an A secondary, he'll deal with what you did
Are you getting the pattern? Many of the lesser half of teams will have a fair amount of games against teams that are better than they are. Those guys are the ones we have to worry about. We know that you want Heisman, you've made that point clear, and we expect you to throw for 300 yds a game against this crappy AA defense

Those teams have to fight to get to .500, and have no shot at a title. If we put it on a level where they are dreading playing because they know they're going to have half their passes picked off, and little success at running, doesnt that HURT our league?
It's not about what level is "more rewarding" or "more satisfying", or whether we should be trying to "enjoy the challenge" of Heisman. It's about what keeps the league active, fun, and keeps people around for THREE SEASONS, not just one or two, and not just to "go through the motions" for draft points. That's why I'm voting for All America. And don't forget this isn't a concrete decision for the whole year. The first season is the quickest usually....and if we messed up by going AA, it'll be easy to fix.

S14: N Texas 7-1
S15: Wake 8-5
S16-21: Washington 9-4, 10-3, 8-5, 9-4, 7-6, 6-7
S22: Ohio 8-5
S23: ECU 12-2
S24-26: Kentucky 8-5, 5-7, 5-7
Career: 102-61

Re: Heisman vs AA (yes, we are going to TRY to discuss)
I agree with 6ft on this one... I can see playing on Heisman without using play the pass or any of the keys.. but on AA it seems like you would NEED to use them..(this is the same way I felt about heisman last game.)...I find that on AA the running lanes and passing windows are HUGE.....I still hit a very high percentage of my passes even on Heisman......I would hate to play another year like last year, where if you had the ball last with a chance to win the game it was going to happen the vast majority of the time because of a lack of defense. Its not suppossed to be easy to score IMO...I dont want to feel like I need to resort to playing the pass on damn near every down to try and get a stop on the final drive.

Re: Heisman vs AA (yes, we are going to TRY to discuss)
see this is the problem, when we decide on a level.. It is for all 3 seasons. It has always been that way. That is why it is important we get it right the first time.jsence2 wrote:6ftdeep wrote: That's why I'm voting for All America. And don't forget this isn't a concrete decision for the whole year. And the only reason why I keep beating a dead horse, is it just seems some have just given up on still trying the Heisman level, and go to AA, because it is simpler and easier to just jump right in and play.

By the same token, it shouldn't be easy to play defense.Steamrollr22 wrote: Its not suppossed to be easy to score IMO...
Give me a top ranked defense on Heisman, I can call man with a 4 man rush, not user control anyone and probably have a top 20 defense, if not top 10.
It's fairly simple. Heisman would be a challenge for offense while defenses are stout.
AA is a challenge on defense.
This is college football, so I say let's finally have a season where we actually see a little offense from more than the select few guys who are always good every year.

I don't think the "defense is impossible on AA" schtick is really all that true. From what I've seen and played, defense is more than doable on AA without any keys or anything. Besides on heisman I couldn't tell if a person would be using keys or not considering how much shit gets blown up. Guess it just is all in how you look at it.shel311 wrote:By the same token, it shouldn't be easy to play defense.Steamrollr22 wrote: Its not suppossed to be easy to score IMO...

This is very true, I was just making a point as to both levels being a challenge, just on opposite sides of the ball.Old Kentucky Shark wrote:I don't think the "defense is impossible on AA" schtick is really all that true. Re: Heisman vs AA (yes, we are going to TRY to discuss)
lemem start by saying helluva job everyone on discussing the points without too much negativity this year.
Good points on both sides
bottom line is we hope whatever decision is made, those of you/us that are on the opposite side of the fence do what those who have been on the opposite side always do in being a valued part of the league and accept the decision and move forward.
An Announcement will come very soon.
Going to go ahead and lock this one up.
Again everyone, thanks alot
