biggest problem with the post route high catch is one simple thing:

no pass rush

Qb's have all day to throw and wait for it to clear-if there were an actual pass rush this conversation wouldn't exist

But that is NOT nearly what Champ was saying.

Champ is talking about the HIGH precision, he never said anything about which route was being run.

I use precision on EVERY pass I throw over 10 yards, and some shorter ones as well. I use left, right, and often times high. I fail to see what is cheesy about throwing a high pass, even if you do it every 3rd down.

I mean, seriously, if I have a QB that is good enough to throw to a spot where defenders aren't, that is considered inappropriate?

Should people not use precision so the DB can swat it away? I just don't understand the logic, nor do I see anything wrong with a player using precision any way he likes. The MAIN reason being, it's not cheesy, it is stoppable, plain and simple. Is it harder to stop with a lesser team? Yes, as it should be.

I hear you on the pass rush.

But I jus don't see the logic here.

There's a DB on my WRs hip, where is the best place to throw the ball?

If I dont use precision, the DB swats it. If I do and my QB can throw it accurately, it goes over the DBs head and into my WRs hands.

Isn't that exactly how good QBs do it in real life?

Stimpin, I understand you're arguing the pass rush and not so much the high pass, so this post isn't directed at you, lol.

It just seems like the argument is that guys aren't happy that others are using precision to throw the ball to spots where defenders cant make a play. That's not making much sense to me.

These conversations (and common coaching report problems) will continue until the day EA allows the spectating of games. In this case, we can have level-headed people like Nole, Mike, Wes, JeffDaddy..etc spectate the games and not have the "sore loser" affect play out.

Until then, we will continue to argue in circles with nobody being "right" or "wrong" but rather tainting the foundation of this league--and that is fun. Personally, if you beat me, chances are you just flat out beat me.

Everybody is in this league for a reason: we are the best of the best and many of these guys have been here for a very long time. You'd think that if their gameplay was questionable, things would have been taken care of a number of seasons ago.

One example I can think of is during my scrim against Mike. I knew going into the game that Mikey knows how to play this game and that he runs a great offense. My gameplan was to man up, rush 3 or 4 and hope for him to make a mistake. What ended up happening was me getting no pass rush and Tebow standing in the pocket while he waits patiently for a receiver to break his route and come running back toward the line of scrimmage. This happened more than once and I am afraid that there are some people who would refuse to bring pressure and just hand out 3's and 4's on the coaches report, call it a "gg" in the recap and subsequently, we'd see a thread like this.

The NDL always has, and always will be my favorite league but unfortunately these gameplay threads full of bickering keep popping up with no end in sight.

May we all enjoy the game, celebrate our wins and respect our losses.

Good post 90210.

I do have one question. Do tell me how do you get pressure even when you blitz? I blitz alot and it matters very little majority of the time. I send em from the outside, corner blitzes, a few inside blitzes and the pressure is minimal. I vary my man blitzes and zone blitzes and i get nada.

Well said Matt.

We can all venture over to the east lobby and see how the scum of the earth lives in the NCAA world. No thanks. i cant remeber the last time i played a person i did not know online. feel very fortunate to be a pasrt of the ndl ,because this is as close to playing football just like you see on tv every saturday.

hey i could go 0-12 , as long as i play 12 guys who respect the game and respect thier opponent. because all it takes is one play in a game to screw up the entire hour. guys need to just play and quit the bitching. life is short -enjoy it

i like to vary my blitzing because, frankly, none work. It doesn't matter unless the QB rolls into the blitz, imo, or i guess if he stands there all day and eventually a d-line will get pressure.

...great post btw 90210
