fyi - just a word to the wise. I hate that putting guys on my 40 man roster was causing to have to send guys right back down when the playoffs start. Well, since i did that, once guys got hurt in September, then i'd promote guys, only those guys i promoted werent eligible for the playoffs.

thus my roster was pretty thin on offense and i was fortunate to have barely have enough guys once 2 or 3 more guys got hurt during the playoffs

they arent eligble for your 25 man playoff roster unless they are on your active 25 man roster at a certain date. I assume it was something like Aug 31st. I had my #4 hitter (Memoto) go on the DL like the sim before that date, therefore he wasnt on my 25 man roster on Aug31st. So when he was eliible to come off the DL before the world series, it wouldnt let me put him on the playoff roster.

Really, it doesn't make much sense. I could see that they should have to be on your 40-man secondary roster to be elligible for the playoff roster. But like you said, a guy that plays all year and goes on the DL right before the cut-off date? I guess you're then forced to keep him active/no DL him, which I suppose isn't a huge deal since you can call up extra guys in September in order to fill his spot for those few weeks, and then he can be on the playoff roster.

At first it seemed ridiculous and didn't make sense.

But now that you mention it with the expanded rosters, I can see how it would make sense.
