- There's like, 4 of you in total writing this shit over and over. This is a 120 team league, 4 =/= 120? Nope. Fix your shit up
- I've heard people who want to switch conferences because of game play from folks. That's really saying a lot

End of the day, Like I said before, instead of writing out page long explanations for your play which has been documented to be like this yearly, try changing things up. Winning isn't everything.

Final note, I might be going outta my way but I promise I will do it. I'm gonna ask buckeye to track a couple scores you guys got (specifically the guys in this thread), and if your scores dont improve next year, I will spend my days finding someone to replace you.

Nick you take things so personal bro. A buddy system isnt bad, I think its a good thing that guys have made buddies and like playing each other every year, thats cool to me. I didnt mean the buddy thing as a bad thing.

Those of us who have been here 20+ seasons are booking along at the posted speed limit, anyone who joins needs to know the rules of the road, drive with courtesy, and realize that going faster than everyone else (winning) is not the #1 goal. The goal here is the community itself, and those who understand this care as much about how much fun their opponent has as they ever do about winning. If your ever having to justify yourself it's about 99% likely your 100% in the wrong and not acting in the best interest of the league.

Mine actually went up

Also helps that you kind of get the feel for things after being around for a few versions of the game. I think it all just comes with time really.

Meh, I never once said I didn't like my coaching score, like I said, I read through them, I read through it last year and I take the real comments to heart, things I can control and things I KNOW i did wrong, like eating hte clock, I never once did it again, and I wont ever turn it on again, anybody I have ever played in years past, which is alot of you guys, I was only trying to respect the game, I didn't want to score, had nothing to do about me breaking rules, or not "undestanding" or "getting things". I get it, I am super active, I respect the guys I play, and I respect their comments and most of them when they come to me and talk..but when I get a comment like 20 screens a game..how can I take anything that coach is going to write in a report serious? Or a guy that says I blitz all game long? I don't, ask the guy that said I didn't blitz at all and stayed in man to man all game. I can't take those reports and do anything with them, a guy telling me not to chew the clock against him, cause it's against the rules, I won't do it again and haven't, lesson learned. I didn't get a horrible coaching report, I had over 100 total points, I was fine, and I know the guys that wrote the things they did, and they were butt hurt they lost, and that is 100% the truth. I HAVE BEEN THERE, I am no angel when it comes to that, and I have realized giving some cool down time will eliminate a lot of this. But I notice the guys saying they get 100% on coaching reports have been here for awhile, so dont' tell me being "buddies" doesn't have anything to do with it, when a guy starts winning people attack their gameplay, happens to EVERYONE in here that is "fairly new". It's part of life, I dont' sweat over that part, but it's funny when guys say a "buddy system" is not in place, it is, even if you don't realize it, you may just know a guy is going to play the way he does, cause you have played him before or know him, so you dont' dock him, a guy you don't know at all, you might dock him, cause its shocking.

Anyways, Vent worked, caused some posts on a Saturday and got a little debate going, and some guys agree with my main point, waiting is a good thing to do, and it has helped ME and the way I view reports, win or loss, last year I didn't give out great coaching reports (sorry to my opponents) cause I didn't fully understand THEM. I have talked alot to some of you verterans last offseason and whatnot on what they look for in games, and It has helped a lot.

I love this league, I take it seriously and I have a lot of fun with it, and the guys in it, it's not just the NCAA game, it's a great community, some of you I have known for 10+ years.
Season 25 NCAA - New Mexico Lobos 5-7
Season 26 NCAA - Arizona Wildcats 11- 3 (Pac 12 Champions, Rose Bowl Champions)
Season 1 Madden - Seattle Seahawks 12-4 NFC Champoinship game (lost)
Season 27 NCAA - Texas Longhorns 9-4 (Alamo Bowl champs vs USC)

well you might want to knock that % down a bit. I never get butt hurt over a game, too old and too much responsibility on my plate to get butt hurt over this game.

I think that "look in the mirror" thing applies here... I'll have to side with George on this.

xLiQx wrote:Just read this last night and decided my two cents probably dont' mean much...quote quote....But I always did the coaching reports right after the game, win or lose, and sometimes I would be heated, lose or win, and say things that probably were out of context or a bit stretched...I had along conversation with Buckeye, he brought up a TON of great points, and after seeing my coaching reporgt this year, I realized it more and more. I read and try to take in everything writes, last year I actually didn't get "ALOT" of feedback, this year, with me winning against bigger name coaches, I GOT TONS, as you can imagine..and honestly, I dont' really take much of it in...cause alot of I think was written in the heat of the moment "ran over 20 half back screens) I will bet my childs life that I have never ran over 10 in a game ever in any game ever. "hot routes all the time on defense" I NEVER hot route on defense....."ate the clock in the 3rd quarter or 4th quarter (got that twice)"....When I am up 25+...would you like me to just keep scoring? If your going to run hurry up and pass.....then I will chew the clock I guess haha, and the best is when someone says "it doesnt' bother me, but sometime else might say something" but then they dock you on the report. I am GUILTY as everyone, as I had stated, I used to write these last year right after my games, in loss, or even a win I would write stuff down without thinking, then the next day would think about it.....if I blitz the crap out of a guy, he only has a few options, if I dont' ever blitz a guy, he then again only has a few options, if you play man to man all game long, then only a few routes might be open, if I dont' mix it up, how can I expect him to, if he mixes it up a lot, then I need to. Just my two cents, these reports...as the THOUGHT is a great one, and it CAN mean alot coming from CERTAIN GUYS that take pride in not LIEING, nor slamming people, but helping them, then it works out great, but I think from what I have gathered and heard from people, it seems as if guys are going to lie, stretch the truth, get angry and just lower the score cause they dont' KNOW the guy, or can't beat him, and just put stuff in there that makes no sense, how can one better the gameplay per say? I dont' know how to fix the "ran 20 screens to his hb" or the "hot routed all the time on defense" or the best was one guy said I blitzed every single play, the other said I never did.....Of course every owner is or should play to his teams strengths against the opponent...sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't haha.

I KNOW the arguement is going to be..well some guys win all the time and get great reports...well they are usually guys who have been in here along time. And we all know how it works when you play a guy with a little bit of power or whatnot, you tend to either play different or kiss his ass. I have built a great relationship with guys in here already, and have had some in the past, good or bad haha, but I LOVE it here, so I am not trying to complain, mainly I am board on a Saturday cheering against NDSU, and thought I would share some insight...MPO.

I guess I just suggest you give it 24 hours before you put in your coaching reports..I think it will let you look at things from a different perspective and also maybe see things from a different view.

I am going to give my two cents here, Reading what you wrote above...

- 1st - You said: I will bet my childs life that I have never ran over 10 in a game ever in any game ever.

Really, 10 screens in a game and you don't see a problem running 10 screens?
You should have a few at most. If you need to run more than a few, chances are your opponent is blitzing the shit out of you and you need to call him on it. Pause the damn game and have a chat. No reason to ever run close to 10 screens in a game.

- 2nd - You said: if I blitz the crap out of a guy, he only has a few options, if I dont' ever blitz a guy, he then again only has a few options, if you play man to man all game long, then only a few routes might be open, if I dont' mix it up, how can I expect him to, if he mixes it up a lot, then I need to.

If you are playing by the rules of the league, you should never be blitzing all the time and you should NEVER be playing man to man all game long.

The part about your statement that really bothers me is the: if I don't mix it up, how can I expect him to, if he mixes it up a lot, then I need to.
NO, NO, NO, NO.
That is the biggest problem, in my opinion, with some guys in this league.
You should not be reacting to how your opponent is playing by playing the same way.
The rules clearly state to mix it up on both sides of the ball....PERIOD!

I have my own gameplan and I will play my way no matter what.
Now sure, if my opponent is blitzing me a lot, I may run a screen or short routes to beat the blitz, if my opponent continues blitzing and is not mixing it up, I can guarantee you that I am on AIM or pause the game and send my opponent a message.

If my opponent is not mixing it up, then they are clearly violating the rules.
Now don't get me wrong, I am not saying that you have to run man, then next play run zone, then next play run man....but what I am saying is mix it up.

DO NOT wait for your opponent to mix it up before you start mixing it up, that is the wrong way to think in this league!

I will 100% agree with you on waiting a little while to fill out your coaching reports. If you are a little heated after your game, wait till the next day and fill it out.

the fact is most, like 95% of the league, talk a big game about slamming guys in reports. However, it isnt true. Most guys give all 5's.

if you're getting a report in the low 80's, there is an issue. Blame it on heat of the moment if you want, but it simply isnt true.

Most everyone wants to win when they play. However, thinking your bad reports or comments are simply being given because you beat someone is absurd.

like someone mentioned, one comment can be taken with a grain of salt. Three or four along the same lines then its a you issue.

Guys dont want to hear it, but its true.

We have 120 guys in the league, everyone has their own style. With the reports though, its a fact that most times it takes something pretty severe in a game to get you docked. despite how guys might rant publicly.

Sooner or later almost everyone realizes its not about your record in here.....
