The Trojans would travel to Arizona to take on the Wildcats in what would turn out to be a struggle on offense for both teams. The first quarter would be pretty uneventful with punts and interceptions. USC would have the ball at their own 6 yard line after a nice punt by the Wildcats. The Trojans offense would start clicking on this drive. USC would go on a 16 play drive that would be capped off with a 1 yard TD rush by Silas Redd to go up 7-0. The Wildcats would come right back but their drive would stall and they would be force to kick a 36 yard field goal to bring the score to 7-3 at the half. "The 16 play drive was great for us," said Coach Dealer, "we really got things going on offense but for some reason we still weren't making all of the plays that we needed to."
USC would get the ball to start the 2nd half and this time would put together a 9 play drive that would end with Alex Heidari kicking a 46 yard field goal bringing their lead to 10-3. The Trojan defense would stop Arizona and the offense would then look to put some more points on the board. However, Max Wittek would be picked off on their first offensive play and Arizona was back in business. They would only need 6 plays as Carey would rush it in from 13 yards out to tie the game at 10-10. Wittek would then throw his 3rd interception of the game on the Trojans next possession. Arizona would get a 1st down on their first play but then have to punt after their next 3 plays. Pinning USC down at their 10 yard line, the Trojans would put together a great drive when they needed it most. This time they would go 15 plays and bleed the clock all the way down to :17 seconds as they would end the drive with a Heidari 28 yard field goal to go up 13-10. The Wildcats would get the ball to just short of midfield after a pass play, but on their final attempt the Trojans would get a sack ending any shot of throwing a hail mary. "That was a tough offensive game," said Dealer, "I'm really proud of our kids for being able to pull a tough game like this out."
