BYU entered the Big 12 season at home against a live KSU team and Coach Bearass. The Cougs were able to start strong jumping out to a 10-0 first quarter lead and a 20-7 half time lead. The final was 33-14 and the KSU D was resilient overcoming three turnovers by the O and holding the Cougs to four FGs. Coach TSTEP "we have to do better at putting the ball in the endzone after we create an opportunity. Some can be attributed to the D by KSU but there was some lack of execution at times."
The Cougs were led on the legs of RB LJ Marrtin who had 32 rushes for 106 yards and two TD's.

Johnson connects with Cephas for one of the only positive plays of the day.
BYU rolled over K-state Sunday morning to the tune of 33-14. The Cougars hammered the run game and dominated the kicking game to cruise past KSU. As normal, Avery Johnson struggled mightily with interceptions which dug the hole even deeper after several 3 and outs. Coach bearass didn't show up to the podium after the game and with Oklahoma State next up hopefully he was working on run fits and scheme moving into the next block. The clock is beginning to tick very loud in Manhattan early in the season.
