2 costly red-zone turnovers and a last-minute interception to end the first half had Golden Hurricane fans yearning for backup QB Kirk Francis. However, Coach MarionCounty stuck with Cardell Williams and he led the Golden Hurricane to a 42-38 comeback victory against the UNT Mean Green. Williams had 317 yards and 4 TDs in the air and added another 84 on the ground. Offensive standouts Kayden Benjamin and Anthony Watkins continued their great seasons helping the offense to accumulate more than 600 yards of total offense, leading the NCAA.
While the offense has been spectacular this year, the defense has been much maligned. One of the worst defenses in college football came to play in the second half, forcing 5 interceptions and giving the offense a chance to mount this comeback. Hopefully, the dense can keep this momentum as the conference slate continues.
Give up 600+ yards, 300+ on the both the ground and air...........
The game really isn't worth describing beyond that, you cannot give up yards like that. Lot of hard work ahead of us to improve after having a performance that embarrassed even our ancestors pets friends.
