In a decisive display of football prowess, the Bowling Green Falcons overwhelmed the Akron Zips with a commanding 35-3 victory at InfoCision Stadium–Summa Field on Saturday afternoon. The win showcased Bowling Green’s offensive firepower and defensive resilience, leaving the Zips reeling from a performance that fell well short of their expectations.
The Zips knew it was going to be a long game with passes dropped on multiple third down attempts. "They just came in here and beat the heck out of us on both sides of the ball. We could not get anything going offensively or defensively. Whatever we tried they always had the answer for. It maybe time for a change on offense at QB and play calling. It will all be evaluated after this one. " said a frustrated coach.
In hot some Day-Time MAC-tion, BGSU came to play as they headed to Akron to take on a great owner in Priest and his Zips of Akron.
The game started out slowly with both teams trying to feel each other out, but it was the Falcons of BGSU who jumped out to a 7-0 lead following a Brock Horne interception leading to a Connor Bazelek qb sneak to snag the lead.
After another quick stop RB Stewart took a long 67 yard run to the house and on the next drive, Trent SImms lurked a HB Screen for a pick 6 and the defense didn't look back.
BGSU gave some work to backup RB Wimberly throughout the 2nd half as the team just tried to stay healthy to finish off block 3 of the NDL Season at 3-1 and 1-0 in the MAC
