Owls emerge in defensive struggle

Article By: UnTouchable8

After averaging over 32 points per game so far this season, the Rice Owls found themselves in a defensive struggle with in-state rivals the UTSA Roadrunners. The Owls were only able to put up 17 points, with 7 of those on a punt return TD, but still managed to finish off the struggling Roadrunners.

The Runners were only able to muster 3 points on offense, with their lone touchdown a 35 yard interception return from a guy who still isn't even listed on the roster, lol. The Runners had a chance to do some damage early, getting the ball all the way to the 1 in the second quarter before failing to convert on 4th and goal. UTSA still held a 10-7 lead going into the half, but 3 second-half picks by McCown sealed the game for Rice.
