Auburn hung with Missouri longer than they should have in this contest. A huge pick 6 and an equally huge 3rd and 3 completion that went for 59 yards tied the score at 21. Auburn had a chance to take the lead in the 4th but missed a 19 yard FG attempt. Missouri made the plays on their final drive kicking the game winner as time expired.

Blake Craig knocks home the game winner as time expires
Columbia, Missouri - In the battle of the Tigers it was Missouri who escaped with the victory, defeating Auburn 24-21. On the offense side of the ball, it was the same old story for the Tigers as the passing game struggled, but thankfully the two-pronged rushing attack of Marcus Carroll and Nate Noel combined for 174 yards on the ground and 2 touchdowns. On defense the Tigers struggled to contain Auburn quarterback Payton Thorne was able to complete 16 of his 19 passes for 218 yards and 2 touchdowns. Late in the game Auburn had a chance to take the lead on a short field goal, but unfortunately for them kicker Alex McPherson missed wide left from 19 yards out. Missouri was able to capitalize on the miss and march down the field, eventually setting up Blake Craig for the game winning field goal from 22 yards out as the clock expired. "We should not have won this game," said coach McDonagh at the post game press conference. "We made some critical mistakes, but lucky for us we were able to tough it out and pick up the win." Up next for the Tigers is a trip to Tuscaloosa to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide.
