Palo Alto, Ca- The SMU Mustangs came into Stanford and left with a 31-13 win to keep their amazing season going. Things started about as bad as could for Stanford. Back to back picks on first 2 drives would pretty much doom the Stanford squad as SMU would capitalize on both for scores.
Stanford would put together a great drive to try to make things interesting which lasted almost 5 minutes to make it 14-7.
The Cardinal defense would make a pick just before the half but Stanford would throw one of their own inside the 10 to pretty much close out the half.
SMU pretty much dominated the 3rd to extend the lead to 28-7. The y would tack on a field goal before Stanford would find the endzone once more. Stanford got a stop on defense finally but would run out the clock inside the red zone as the game would end.
Great game man, felt a little closer than the final, best of luck rest of the season.
This one was tough from the beginning. SMU got a big stop on the first drive to give themselves a chance to take the early lead. After a long fought drive the Mustangs were able to capitalize and take the early lead. The Mustang defense continues to play lights out and carry the team as they have most of the season. A big interception gave the Cardinal a chance to tie it or take the lead going into halftime but a HUGE interception by Kobe Wilson would deny the opportunity. The Mustangs were able to get a little going in the second half putting another score on the board behind an 86 yard run by Knighton. The defense would play well enough to slow them down however and keep the Stanford offense from putting up too many points.
Great Game Dray and GL the rest of the way
