Boise State did what they wanted to on the ground and it showed. The
Runnin Rebels tried to stop the Broncos run game, and they were not successful as Head Coach IRoccafella stumped the defense on timely runs and running back screens, and kept the Rebels from making a comeback. Key turnovers by each team kept this game low scoring and it was a great game, and a nice pace of back n forth, who was going to throw the next interception, etc. The Runnin Rebels could not muster any offense, passing and rushing attempts did not gain any yards, as it was a tough day for the Rebels all game long at Allegiant Stadium. Head Coach Black Rain has to rethink and brainstorm what he is doing for the future. Great game IRoccafella! Good luck rest of the season.
The Boise State Broncos righted the ship with a 17-10 victory over the UNLV Rebels on Saturday. The Broncos' defense was once again dominant, holding the Rebels to just 181 total yards. The offense struggled at times, but they were able to make enough plays to secure the win.
The Broncos' defense set the tone early, forcing turnovers early and often. However, Malachi Nelson had a rougher outing throwing two INTs of his own.
The Rebels were unable to generate any sustained offense throughout the game. They were held to just 55 rushing yards and 126 passing yards. The Broncos' offense didn't light up the scoreboard to win the game. The Broncos' running game, lead by Alshon Jeanty's 105 yards was effective, rushing for 172 yards. The victory improves the Broncos' record to 3-4. They will look to continue winning in their next game against a dangerous SDSU opponent.
